Personal/self defense is acceptable.
But you need to expand on it. Why you feel the need to protect and defend yourself and those in harms way.

As long as you have good character and haven’t broken the law, you will likely be issued one. The CCW unit is a handful of good folks that work hard to issue them. They have a mountain of work daily. They are not lazy people, they just have a whole lot to do.
It took me approx 11 months from initial application to permit. While slow the process was smooth. Class day is really good and the instructors are excellent and kind people.
Once you submit and receive notice they got your application, the best thing you can do is leave them alone. It’s literally one person that handles the applications, answers phones etc. Every-time the phone needs answering is less time to process.
Oh one thing to note, ccw class is held on saturdays.Comment

Hey guys when I was 15 years old I got shot in the spine for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Cops never caught who did this to me but they told me they believe it was gang initiation and I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I had my CCW interview yesterday and everything went smooth they were really friendly. Hopefully im officially part of the licensed to carry soon! Do you guys know how long it takes for them to schedule the 8 hour class?Comment

Interview went smoothly at the new location. Now we play the waiting game. I was told that they will be spending the next few weeks catching up so be patient.

Received
I got my renewal email 7/6/21 and got my renewal paperwork turned in around the middle of August. My permit expired on 10/15/21 and I still have not received my renewal. I called the office a couple days before my expiration and was told to be patient it should be there in time. I didn't receive it by my expiration so I emailed them on 10/23rd with no reply. Are other people having issues with their renewals being delayed and i'm being impatient? Or is there other reasons why my permit got delayed that i'm not considering? (Nothing has changed as far as eligibility, no tickets, no interactions with LE. I moved but I updated them and my previous permit reflected the move.)Comment

Caliber and Model Mistake?
I just received my subsequent CCW permit and I put my off roster Sig Sauer P365 on my permit this time. However in the Caliber column for the P365 it says "C" and for the model it says "9". For my Glock 19 also on my permit it says in the caliber Column "9mm" and in the model section it says "19". Is this a mistake on the permit printing, or does this have to do with being an off roster pistol? If it's a mistake Im assuming I need to let the department know.Comment
