Only 5 rounds per gun? When did they change that?

        Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

It was the same back 4 years ago, when I first qualified and it was that way last May during my re-qual at AVGC. They probably did it for us 5 shot revolver guys.

Oh, and still waiting for my renewed license to show up.

Oops, I left that part out in my post, two mags or speedloaders with 5 rounds each. 5 shots, reload, 5 shots, for each gun.

This was 20+ years ago. Record has been squeaky clean since then. One fender bender 20+ years ago, and no moving violations ever. All of his guns are legally owned and registered. His name is not common, so I doubt there are issues regarding that. All of this was disclosed on application and during interview.

Livescan and fingerprinting were done at the time of interview, rejection letter came 2 and a half months after interview. All of his paperwork is perfect, A1 credit. 0 run ins with neighbors, police, ex' or anyone for that matter.

He now has 10 days to appeal the denial. Without knowing the reason for denial, how can he even plead his case? Has anyone been successful in an appeal? Or will it be an exercise in futility?

                  Thank you for any advice.

Whoopee! Guess what just came in the mail! It took 7 weeks from when I turned in my renewal package.

                      Yay!

Now, in two years when are you going to turn in your paperwork?

If, in two years, they only make 2 days a month available at the local range to re-qualify like they did this year................. I will probably still be in the same boat. I got my renewal letter the end of March. April range dates were booked for me, so I had to schedule the May dates, with an expiration date of July 1st. Yeah, I will probably still end up behind the eight ball.

Sometime you need to go for a drive.

                          Well, I know I would.

I am 60 miles from the nearest range, so yeah, I already drive. Now add the trip through "the pass" to get to the Sheriff's office (94 miles) to turn in the paperwork.........

                              Well .........

There might be a better way to do it.

Prado would probably add 70 miles to the trip. But since they do the qualifying during the day it may not work for you.

But, if it does it would probably make your over all driving less by doing it all in one day.

120 miles round trip for qualifying. 188 miles to turn in your paperwork. Total 308.

Doing it at Prado - the total might be as low as 258 miles.

Thank you for this information. Prado is 111 miles from my house, but if I make a loop and swing buy the Sheriff station on the way home, it would probably save me 100+ miles. Now, if I can only have my poop together and have my money orders and renewal package ready to go on the day of my range day(short of range card), I would just make it a day of it and be done.
I just gotta remember Prado 2 years from now. I am old.
