When I applied for it I was cleaning my Sig Sauer P220, so that's what I put on the application. When I went to the class and qualification I took 3 completely different guns.

No problems getting them listed on my permit.

That’s the way that it was originally done for everyone that had the class after background. The class and range qualification was all in one, and completed in the same day. I’m not sure if it was because of Covid or backlog, but there was a time period where the Sheriff’s Department was using 4 external ranges. Prado, West End Gun Club, Route 66, and Apple Valley Gun Club. https://wp.sbcounty.gov/sheriff/wp-c...ors-020921.pdf

Because of the external range portion not taking place right after the class, there was a small timeframe that applicants had to purchase firearms after the class. It looks like they’re going back to the All in one class and range days.

Did you get a chance to get rescheduled for the next class?

I mentioned it earlier, but I was told that the July class is the last class under their COVID guidelines/policy; no doubt it's not coincidental to the last day of the current Sheriff's departure. I was told that as of now (then) there was no scheduled future date. I also inquired as to whether I'd be placed at the back of the line and I didn't receive positive affirmation that I would not be. He did mention a couple sentences later that it would not be that way. If that were the case, I'd have just taken the course/qualification immediately. Sorry for the long explanation. It's back to waiting for the call to schedule.

Had my initial interview July 18, 2020.

Got my card in the mail today!

Been a long road but worth it in the end.

My renewal still hasn't shown up in the mail. A 4th of July spend without my (bought and paid for) 2nd Amendment right to carry.

Thanks for the tip and for asking. I did. I paid for it and am waiting on the 10-day wait period, which happens to expire on the date that would have been my ccw class. It seems Glocks are rolling back into stock.
