Hello, I am curious about how the renewal process works in general and with covid going on if it is delayed. So I am looking to add a new firearm to my permit but I may not receive it before my 30 day period to submit the renewal paperwork, but I do have a serial number for it, will I be able to add it to my permit? Anybody have any ideas?

SBSD CCW FAQ 2020

You may call to schedule your renewal class any time after receipt of this letter. Please contact the Employee Resources Division at (909)387-3750. (Class dates and locations are listed on the back of this letter.) Classes may be taken within 90 days of the CCW expiration date. Paperwork can be accepted before or after your renewal class. Questions and concerns can be addressed at this time. Be sure to call our office to schedule your renewal class as they WILL fill up quickly. The completion of renewal paperwork on scheduled class days will not be accepted.

If you plan on adding a weapon to your permit, you must bring in your renewal paperwork to our office to be scheduled for a range date no later than 30 days before expiration of your permit.

You are required to come into the Employee Resources Division to complete renewal paperwork 60 – 90 days prior to the expiration of your CCW permit to ensure it processed before expiration. Paperwork will be accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will need to download and fill out the ENTIRE renewal application (*just do not sign*) at sbcounty.gov/sheriff/ccw and bring it with you to our office.

I was told by the range master at Prado the S.D. will pick up the range cards once a month. I went the first week available when they started and have not recieved my renewal yet. I also heard some people had gotten there's after a week anybody gotten there renewal already after going to Prado and who else is still waiting?

What date did you go? Someone on here went on the 8th and got his the following week. I did mine on the 10th and still waiting.

How was the Apple Valley session, mines next month, fortunately I got my new card already in April.

Completed everything but the range back in March. Completed the range (with no changes) on 7/9. Still waiting.

What’s happening with the new applicants in SB county ?My baby brother applied the exact same day in riverside county and picked up his one month three weeks ago.I am still waiting and I have four other permits .I tell you one thing I shouldn’t have left and come back California I have FFLs COEs when I got my FL VA UT AZ two weeks to a month I was done .I am a patient man but gee whiz my Best friend has been waiting since last March still No Dice .

Life has changed for everyone since this Covid crap hit.
The CCW unit is dealing with the same restrains as other 'businesses'. Social distancing, shortened hours, closed to the public.....the list goes on. Riverside does things differently.

Renewal Update

Just got my card in the mail today. 3 weeks to the day after completing my range quals at Prado. What a frustrating 2 months it has been! Good luck guys, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. One drawback is that it is keeping my old renewal date. So I will have to renew again in 22 months instead of 2 years.

I went to Prado on July 9 and received my renewal permit on Wednesday of this week. I added two new firearms.
