They do not impose any specific restrictions on modifications.
My instructors exact words were "Please do not disable any factory safeties"
"Work done other than normal cleaning should be done by a qualified smith and not Bubba with a Dremel"

It is not their problem if you do something that makes your gun unsafe.
It will be up to you and your attorney to justify modifications if they become an issue, which is quite likely during the civil trial even if the DA does not press criminal charges.

Generally, a custom rear slide cover with the "Punisher" image is probably not a good idea, even though it has zero impact on reliability or accuracy.
For a similar reason, I would not use the Hornady "Zombie Max" ammo.

Definitely not confused.. I am 100% sure that they made me go get my rental agreement notarized and come back. I don't know why, it was a huge pain. Maybe they only do it under certain circumstances? It's pretty clear they don't make everyone do it, but they do make some people do it. No one is confused.

Since you and the property owner both sign the agreement it seems odd they only had you get your signature notarized.

Ontario PD does in fact issue permits. I know of at least one person who has one issued by them. He is a business owner but got the feeling that they would issue for personal protection.

If I had known that I would have tried with the city. Pedro, what I would do is apply with both of them. It will be a few months before you have an interview with the sheriff's department. You should have an interview quickly with the city and would probably know before your interview with the sheriff's department what Ontario is going to do.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress.

                    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

That would be the best to do....but wouldnt I need to submit partial payments for both processes?...then I would have to basically forefit one process...or how does it work?

You don't pay the county a dime until your interview. If you apply right now with the county your interview date will be about 6 months out.

If you download and fill out the form from the Ontario PD's website and turn it in tomorrow you will probably have an interview in a week or so. By the time you have your interview they will have reviewed your application and already have a decision on wether or they want to proceed with your application. If they say that you don't meet the requirements for issuing a permit they will tell you so and you'll be on your way.

If they tell you that you meet their requirements for issuing a permit you will have to pay them to start the process of doing the background investigation. You you start the process with the city as long as they don't find anything that would disqualify you they will issue the permit.

The one guy that I know of that has a permit from Ontario said that it was about 4 months start to finish.

Now to answer your question about the cost. Going with the county might be a little cheaper but it's going to take you much longer to get it. The background check and other fees should be pretty close between the two. Where you're going to see the difference is in the cost of training. The county does it in house for a $100. Ontario PD doesn't; you need to go to a private school. Depending on what school you go to will determine your cost.
