This thread needs a little breath of life, so I'll add to it
Was at Devore yesterday adding guns to my permit for renewal.
It was well organized and the range masters were awesome as usual.
The gentleman next to me was struggling and they were very patient and helped him through it.
    Great experience.
I also took my renewal class a few weeks ago in Rancho
Detective teaching the class was awesome, about 200 people.
I smiled as I'm thinking here are 200 law abiding citizens, male, female and all ages sitting in the city's council chambers.
How many cities would you see that in?
All done with process, just waiting for new permit.
I really like our sheriff and our county and a shout out to the people who run the ccw division!

I am very happy (and surprised) that McMahon is running unopposed for reelection.
Last election, there were two men looking for the position, a former LAPD officer from Rancho who was not forthcoming with his CCW opinion, and a current Riverside deputy who would accept SD as good cause, but would also add a psych evaluation like Murietta.

Me three. I have to live in SoCal another year or two, being able to carry as the good Lord intended makes it more tolerable.

And I agree the whole CCW division works well in getting cards into the rightful hands. Takes too long, costs too much, but it's doable.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

After living in LA County for 30 years where CCW's are a non starter.
I am grateful for the opportunity and willing to jump through any hoops I have to for the privilege here
            No complaints and no regrets!
And yes hats off to the entire CCW division, taking care of us with all the other duties they have!

Agreed. AZ can crank out permits in 3 weeks for $60 flat. SB is 6+ months before you even get started, at 6 times the cost....

AZ process is not as in depth as SB.
                No interview.
                No residence check.
                No range time.
NO CA DOJ to deal with.

3/4 of which should not be required to defend ones self in a state that openly cares more about criminals than its own citizens.

And people wonder why citizens carry illegally....

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Forbidden or not, you're so very right. The CCW process has a lot of hoops to jump thro now, but I can think of a lot of ways the state legislature could make it even tougher. No need to specify - they come up with enough ideas on their own - they don't need our help.... Every vote counts!

Went in to submit my renewal paperwork today. Couple observations this time around (I think it's like my 3rd or 4th renewal for SBC)
                            • This time, I had to go find a copy of my marriage certificate - from googling, it looks like that is needed when sharing guns with a spouse doing CCW, but I'm not sure. But the instructions said "include all of the following documents..", so I added it.
                            • If you have other CCW's beyond CA, you will need to attach an additional page that lists the others since there is no room on the application for those.
                            • Make sure you get US Postal money orders (total of 2 for the app, and 1 for the safety class) - in the old days they would take others but I believe you need to get the US Postal ones now. (and don't forget you need one for the safety class as well....so get them all at the same time)

As always, the staff was very professional and courteous, and I was in and out of there in about 10 minutes. The longest part was signing a couple more forms that they give you when you submit your paperwork. If you make sure your packet is complete, and you've followed directions, it's super fast. I also agree, I love our sheriff for supporting our rights.

The USPS Money Order requirement has been around for a few years now.

Just looked at the renewal app the line for CCW's has been there awhile.

I took my marriage license for my initial application, it wasn't needed, and I was not asked for it at renewal... my last renewal was last November.
