I got my approval call the other day. I'm in the December 13th class in Devore! My background took almost 3 months. I found out when i called about a week and a half ago they were waiting on employment verification. Similar situation as you. I work for the government so employment verification isn't easy. I gave them a specific name to send it to, a week later, I got my call.

I told them during the interview that my employer gives out little information about its employees. Seems like everything is at a standstill for me. Did any of you guys have any issues like this? Any suggestions? Any advise will help, thanks in advance fellas

I received a call last night from Detective Logan, I passed the background, and I am scheduled for the December 13th class. So total time line seems to be on track with everyone else's 6 months from phone call to permit.

Including my previous live scan from a couple years prior, which is related to something else. As far as the reason why I needed a CCW, which I put down for self protection and the protection of my family, he told me to add I am applying for a CCW due to the increasing crime statistics in San Bernardino County, and due to the Governor releasing inmates from our jails. After I put all that down, he highlighted several key words, and underlined several other key words. The next door neighbor was not home on 10/09/14 for the deputy. The neighbor said a card was left with a phone number. The neighbor said he would call. The deputy never knocked on my door, I checked the cctv. Called the employer today 10/13/14, who stated that they received the packet from the Sheriffs department on 10/10/14 via snail mail. They said they would have it mailed out by tomorrow 10/14/14. So things seem to be moving along pretty well. Just a waiting game to see what happens.

Just had my interview today w/ Deputy R. Perea, a cool guy and straight forward.
          Advices that i can give:

First of all they want you to BE HONEST. I went to DMV to get my driving records and showed that i have a clean record but I had 3 vehicular accidents (w/c all 3 were not my fault - all 3, I got rear ended on a red light) and also I have 3 traffic violations and all this didn't show on the DMV records but I think they (SBCS) have their own way to check and all these showed on their system, it's good that I disclosed everything there. They don't care if you are not sure bout the dates as long as you tell them. So BE HONEST, it won't hurt you, it might help.

Second: make your appointment early coz their live scan office closes at 1045 and will reopen at 1330 (not sure bout this). It's good that Deputy Perea made me do it first before anything else.

third: NO NEED TO BRING YOUR HANDGUNS FOR THE INTERVIEW...

So I'm just waiting for them to call me within 90 days. Per deputy Perea everything looks good, it depends now on my employer.
Life is just like a d*ck, when it gets harder just f**k it.....

Life is just like a penis: Simple, relaxed and hanging freely. It's the woman that make it hard.

            10/25 range day

I called the office today and operator said they received the range cards from the 10/25 range day yesterday. They're processing them today and permits should be ready within a few days. There is light at the end of the tunnel.... Get those money orders ready.
            I support/defend the 2nd.

I have my interview in two weeks and I opened my safe to realize I only have a copy of the County certified birth certificate and not an original. The instructions say I need the original and a copy (I presume for them to keep). Does anyone know if a copy of my County certified birth certificate and my passport will suffice?

I will call them later today but wondered if anyone else used something other than an original County certified birth certificate.

Technically I passport should prevail but you can't count on everyone knowing that. When I did mine I got delayed for not having my original. On the plus side I was able to order one on line and had it in a week. But you are right call them first.

I was just told that a Passport can not replace needing to show an Original County Certified Birth Certificate. My US passport and a copy of the County Certified Birth Certificate is not enough proof of legal residency I guess.

I just got my interview date scheduled today, and I have to wait until mid February. That sure seems like a long time to wait.

I had to wait about 3 months to get an interview date as well.

Did you do the new format where you submit the application online and they call you to schedule your interview?

I tried doing that, but nothing happened on my computer so I called to make sure the application was in, and they scheduled my appointment over the phone.

Ah alrighty. With the whole Peruta thing going on, I bet they're going to change something else again. I'm not gonna touch my application until a few days before my interview

Can't believe we had 3 no-shows at the range qualification. Who goes through this entire process only to skip the range day?
