Here is a snippet of an email from 4/9 from an Employee Resources Deputy:
When normalcy resumes, our CCW unit will make special arrangements to qualify those CCW holders who licenses have expired.
If your permit has expired, please be advised, Penal Code 25400 will apply if carrying a weapon concealed on your person or in your vehicle.
While your permit may have expired, you will have 180 days from the date of expiration to renew your license without starting the CCW process over. After 180 days, you would need to re-apply for a new CCW.
Thank you for your understanding. We will be in contact with you as soon as we possibly can. Please stay safe.
This is seemingly contradicted by some posts on here. I actually did qualify with one handgun in February that I added to my renewed permit. You'd think that I'd be GTG to carry that particular handgun, but I can't get clarification one way or the other...
