Just got an email, even though I got my renewal permit in February, I have to go qualify again 4/18. Thought SB was not doing that, but I guessed wrong.

Are these new firearms or ones you originally qualified with? I know they were requiring you to qualify if you are making a change in your rotation, at least with the new guns you are changing to. Are they now requiring re-qualifying with guns you originally qualified with?

They are requiring people to qualify with existing firearms.
When AB-2103 went into effect SB did not implement the required 'shall include live-fire shooting exercises on a firing range'.
        (d) For license renewal applicants, the course of training may be any course acceptable to the licensing authority, shall be no less than four hours, and shall satisfy the requirements of paragraphs (2) and (3) of subdivision (a). No course of training shall be required for any person certified by the licensing authority as a trainer for purposes of this section, in order for that person to renew a license issued pursuant to this article.
        26165. (a)
        (2) The course shall include instruction on firearm safety, firearm handling, shooting technique, and laws regarding the permissible use of a firearm.
        (3) The course shall include live-fire shooting exercises on a firing range and shall include a demonstration by the applicant of safe handling of, and shooting proficiency with, each firearm that the applicant is applying to be licensed to carry

Yup, existing guns. Couldn't be worse timing with the virus nonsense. Gotta find some factory loads, I have none.

Took class at headquarters on 3/3/20. Left with my 2020 permit in-hand. Expiration is 4/15/20. Going to the range this Saturday AM.

No. No money due for re-qualification.

Actually emailed Sarah to verify, the instructions make it seem like a range fee is due. Also no adding guns, even though we have to go to the range.

One important note: I did a gun swap in February ahead of my renewal. Took one off and replaced it. My 2020 permit shows the correct three firearms. BUT, I will still have to bring the newly added gun to my requal. Not just the two existing handguns, but ALL THREE. Don't be caught off guard. Bring what's on your permit and sufficient ammo.

Yup, all guns on your permit. No added fee, sounds like they'll be rushing people through. They'll have you wait in your car at your designated range until ready to shoot. Finding ammo is gonna suck.

San Bernardino County just released this:
Public Health officer orders face covering, electronic-only religious services
Published April 7, 2020 | By County of San Bernardino
In an effort to protect the public from further spread of COVID-19, the County’s Acting Health Officer has formally ordered everyone in San Bernardino County to wear a face covering when leaving home.

Face coverings may include coverings that secure to the ears or back of the head and encompass the mouth and nose. Homemade cloth ear loop covers, bandannas and handkerchiefs, and neck gaiters may be used to reduce the spread of COVID-19 particularly among asymptomatic people. Surgical masks and N95 masks must be preserved for healthcare workers and emergency responders.
