What kind of gun is it? Glocks are pretty easy to adjust, XD and Shield, not so much.

That sucker is on with a triple shot of red Loctite.

I had my sights changed by OC Gunsmith, but there's a guy in Riverside not far from Lake Matthews who works out of his house I've heard good things about.

The guy at Dave's in 'Berdoo won't touch it.

I just took a close look at it and my rear sights are indeed off- center to the right. If there's a pin in the middle I'm not even sure how they can even be placed off- center. It would seem as that pin would be a fail safe.

It's not pinned... it's just a setscrew that helps to hold it in position.
Makes it even harder to adjust... Need heat to soften the Loctite, which is on the setscrew AND under the site in the dovetail.

That's why I took it to a Smith. He screws it up, he owes me a slide.

But doesn't that mean the screw has to be screwed into some thread to hold it in place?

I just replaced the sights on my shield with trijicons
Not a big deal. After securing in vise, remove he set screw
Spray a dab of wd-40 on both sights, wait a minute
Wipe and drift out.. ez pz.

Guess you missed the point when I said I don't have the tools.

I just wanted to move in a few mm to the left. I'm shooting about an inch to the right at only 5 yards

gotcha, well seems theres two options smith or tool, i would think a smith would be cheaper but then you run the risk of him going too far or not far enough.

Smith & Wesson saying 6-8 week turnaround. I simply can't do it. I'm going to head up to a smith I just wish he could test shoot it to make sure its centered. Or let me test it st the range and return it without being charged a 2nd fee.

my philosophy is: if i can do it myself its usually worth buying the tool cuz chances are ill need to do it to another gun.
i built my first ar on my own and contemplated buying all the special tools to make it easier and im glad i did cuz ive built at least 8 now and they all go together super smooth and easy with those tools and the instant "i made that" gratification!
