Seems lately they've been getting the permits out right around a week after class.
I got the call Thursday afternoon (too late to make it with traffic)

      I wouldn't even bother calling until 6/1
Feb was a short month, and they're taking 90+ for most people.

He said that if I could make a headshot there, I could make a body shot anywhere on the 1st floor of our building.

First round clipped the earlobe. Next couple of rounds couldn't see anything.
One through the jaw, one right around the eye, couple more apparent misses.

Pulled the target back and the whole freaking group was head-sized, just offset to the left slightly (I tend to not use enough trigger finger and pull left)

Just need to get it well broken in and find some ammo that it feeds reliably before switching it for the G26 on my permit.
yeah my cw9 is surprisingly accurate as well, but i did notice it didn't want to feed hollow points very well, at least the winchester 124gr defense ammo ill have to load some of my own (once i get my press) and find an hp that works cuz the cw9 will be on my permit.

When I call the DOJ number (even today) it says its in progress for both, however I got a call about a week ago telling me I have already passed. I think they get the results before us. I had my interview 2/8/16 so your range date should be coming soon.

            applied 12/16/16
            interview 3/25/16

Boss just let me know HR has the paperwork. That's pretty fast right?

I figured they would do residence check first.

My interview was the middle of August and residence check was end of October.

Applied in December interviewer March 23rd. Officer came by my house to make sure I lived there and to talk to the neighbors today
Do they wait for DOJ/FBI background to come back before they neighbor check? I'm just wondering where I'm at in the process.

No sometimes they do residency checks quick.

sparkx is correct. they can and will do the res check before background comes back.

Question about anyone who has gone thru renewal:

I know you have to submit another application, bring your grant deed and utility bills, go thru the DOJ background check, and attend a 4-hour course.

But, do they also do another employer letter and residence check? Do you have to do the Livescan fingerprinting again and take a new photo?

If you guys feel like contributing, I created a San Bernardino CCW facebook page to help people since I saw a lot of people asking about it in a City of Rancho group.

I tried directing them here at first but most of them are older and aren't the kind of people to use forums, and surprisingly half are women.

I have been answering their questions so far. I figured maybe some of you could contribute if you want. No pressure to contribute, I can answer their questions fine on my own for the most part. Just wanted to say its there.

May be problematic because of the Facebook "real names" requirement.
Yes, many of us here are friends or have met, but we don't "out" each other online... and particularly something like this, "concealed means concealed"

I love helping new gunners and sharing experiences with applicants, but I would not be comfortable tying the fact that I carry to my FB ID.

I understand, I debated with myself a bit before deciding. I figure since it's a private group, at least posts wont show up if someone Googles for them, and at least at the sacrifice of complete anonymity, I am helping a whole lot of people get their applications going. We got over 70 members yesterday, a couple from here
