Got a call today to reschedule my interview next week. Only a day sooner now, but a day is a day! For the folks that have already interviewed, it is the 655 E 3rd addy, correct? I keep forgetting to ask when I'm on the horn with Sarah.

Yup. That's the correct address. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row and good luck!

Where the best place to park? Just that small lot right on 3rd?

I guess with my interview being at 8 I should be able to get a spot there.

Right in front if you can get a spot, otherwise there is a larger lot just off to the left of the building.

On the side street to the left of the building. Get to know it well. Renew classes, gun additions, anything... you will probably need to park there

I was looking to the left on Streetview and it was gated, looked like maybe employee parking.

Yea, chances are that there will be plenty of parking right out front at 8am. Then just walk in the front entrance (glass doors) look to your left and you should see an office/receptionist through a 2nd set of glass doors and that's where you'll need to check in. It has a sign saying something like "must show ID to enter".

Then just wait to be called and get ready to fill out more paperwork/questionnaires and give detailed information about your history and behavior. For example, do you drink alcohol/do drugs/have been in a fight or something along those lines. Then you have to explain your answers (in writing) that you answered "yes" to. For example, if you answered yes to drinking you might say something like "I drink from time to time during social occasions but always in a responsible manner and in moderation." Your answer may be different of course according to your lifestyle.

Also, get ready to relist ALL of the places you've lived in the past 10 years and approximately when did you stay there and when did you leave. Same goes with your work history in chronological order from most recent to least recent I believe. At least that's what I was required to do...

                    Sounds pretty painless.
One residence in the last 20 years and only 3 jobs in the last 10.
Alcohol? A beer with dinner out maybe once every couple of months.
Other than that, a nip in the evening before bed.

I am curious on employer contact information.
One business is no longer around "as it was"... the CEO ended up buying back into it during it's death throes and apparently still uses the name, but it's not the same business, and none of the SoCal staff remains.
My direct supervisor would be the best person to speak to... and he's at a different company.

Likewise for my current job... I listed my actual work address, but HR is at a different address. May not matter since I believe the post office delivers everything to the mail room at city hall.

I believe they'll only contact your current employer; I may be wrong. I had difference circumstances because as a person who owns and operates my own business, I was never sent an employee verification form to fill out...probably because they know that I could just give myself a positive review and send it back to them myself.

Last question, folks. What did you put down for the "position of" part on the notarized form. I'm assuming it's just "Concealed Carry Permit Holder", but I also hate assuming and am unable to find any direction otherwise.

Yup that will do just fine. Good luck!

Just a heads up: The department updated the price for the admin/background fees. The 20% due at the interview is now $30.60, and the final amount due at time of pickup is $122.40. I realize it's only a slight increase in price, but had I not checked prior to getting my money orders this morning, I would have come up short tomorrow.

What the f.... dammit. Thanks for the heads up. Good thing I didn't go get my last money order yet. I wonder if the new pricing applies to the people who already paid the 20% ($29.20) before the price increase.

I'll ask at my interview tomorrow and report back.
