quick question, what paperwork do i need to bring to the interview? I've already uploaded my required documents. should I bring all those as a backup as well? resume? list of guns I have? my appointment is next week and I'm getting nervous!
not sure how to prep besides looking at the pinned ccw advice thread. any additional info I should look at?

Oh man, March 2022 was the earliest available when I applied today. Looks like I'll be checking back often to see if I can improve my date.

Check back religiously. I thought I did (1-2x) a day, but i would always read on here how someone was able to snag a date much sooner than mine... I gave up after a while and just stuck with what mine was (~11 months out from original application).

But I cannot stress enough how much you should just check back multiple times, daily.

Are they processing modifications to add a firearm to your permit now?

Thank you DVRjon for the insight! i went to the interview, it wasn't bad.

                My Timeline:

                4/8/21: Initial application

5/23/21 : Interview, I got lucky with a cancellation, my original interview was in 2/22!

5/26/21: Approval to proceed to Livescan and training.

6/1/21: Livescan complete, I was out of state or this would have been done
                sooner.

                6/8/21: 16 hr Training completed.

                6/8/21: Final documents uploaded.

                6/15 paid and picked up!

why are these things so huge?! you would think they would be more wallet size friendly!

My friend and I took our renew class last week, he has to renew now and I have a month before I do, he called me yesterday and said that he put his info in the computer the night before and the next day got the call and text to pick up his permit, that's way faster then it use to be, glad to see it's alot faster these days.

When you pick up permit you can ask them to laminate a fold in it to make it smaller but don't do it yourself, never modify your permit or it will be void!

When you pick up the permit from Sac Sheriff, it will be folded and laminated. This closes off the blank back of the license and precludes anyone from adding guns other than the three on the front.

                        It's still a large document.

They are now offering to fold it again and run it through the laminator. Makes it about the size of a credit card, but can still be unfolded if it has to be done. Would not recommend unfolding it too often.

Here's a first for speedy renewal times...

6-28-2021 (6:53am): Uploaded Renewal Application and ALL supporting documents.
6-28-2021 (7:21am): Received a phone call, text message and email saying application has been approved and READY for pick up!

I guess I can't complain about the 28 minute approval time!

Ok, so I moved (still in sac county), filled out the paperwork for the change of address and it was approved.

I did not get an email saying I need to pick up a new CCW. Do I just use the old one, or will they have me come pick up a new one?
