Sacramento *** TIME TO APPLY!!! ***

This doesn't answer your question, but I needed a Live Scan post to quote. I was just skimming the OC thread, and a commonly reported current Live Scan timeline down there is in 2-4 week range. It would be interesting to get more data points on that and compare to current timelines here; I can think of no reason specific to the functionality of the statewide DOJ system that should make it significantly faster in one area compared to another.

Like granular silica through an equatorially constricted chronographic vessel, so are the circadian georotations of our metabolic persistences.

I've wondered the same. It doesn't make sense that my dad who lives in Trinity County can get his permit in less than 4 weeks from application to permit in hand, but the livescan alone here takes 4 months or so. Friend of mine in Shasta county was told by the person at the sheriff's dept who interviewed him that turnaround is so slow because there is literally one person for the entire state who processes the paperwork for every CCW issuance. I told him someone is blowing smoke.

Has anyone else who had their interviews in January still not receive an approval email? I feel like I'm alone here and mine got screwed up somehow.

Have you check the actual site? If you were approved the site will ask for additional documents

I've read previously that LiveScan results in a near-immediate electronic response, and then triggers a paper mailing to the IA. The paper mailing is what takes forever. Presumably, the fast counties don't wait for the results to arrive in the mail.

No idea if this is accurate, just restating what I've read on this forum or inferred.

I have heard the same. I work in county govt and our livescan results are available within an hour or 2 at the latest, possibly sooner. The notification e-mail that the results are in at least take that long. Someone else here told me that is because they are looking for deeper info on these livescans, but I don't think that is the case.

They flat out say if you forget a document you are SOL, at least that's how I understand it. So he may have to start the process over.

                          Go to the August interview.

                          What is it you're asking?

Is there a way to prepare for the interview?

Not really. You're going to talk about yourself, a subject in which you are the most qualified expert. Be relaxed and be honest. If you've screwed up in the past, own it and emphasize the good stuff you've done since then.

Dress casually, be respectful and appreciative...these folks work hard at this.

                              Best.

                                Moving

                                Good morning,

Does anyone know if you lose your permit or ability to renew if you move from Sac County to Sac City ?

                                Thanks
