The Sheriff has made great progress in trying to streamline the CCW process.
I can't imagine why the IT Systems consultants allowed the system to go live with out proper staff training and complete system testing. This must be a major burden on department staff.

A friend of mine just moved to Sac & made an appt for his CCW, is "Personal Protection" still acceptable for GCS?

Self defense. Or self defense and defense of my family. So, yeah.

Like granular silica through an equatorially constricted chronographic vessel, so are the circadian georotations of our metabolic persistences.

Cant believe this thread has gone stale. (4/25 since last post)

              Lets' try this . . . .

For all us waiters on a new CCW, what is REALLY causing the delay?
              1. DOJ processing of Live Scan,
              2. SCSD new system,
              3. Anti-gun conspiracy,
              4. All of the above ???

Sacramento County Sheriff's office inability to review new applications due to lack of training on using new online system.

That is also the current delay for me. I had my interview on 2/15 and my interviewer said that "the committee" would review and approve my new application in 2-4 weeks and I'd get an email. It's now been two and a half months and I still have not heard back. I called about a month ago and they said my application is still waiting for committee review.

Same here, my appointment was 1/26, I sent an email requesting update, and they replied that they are still learning how to access the applications in order to review them.

And we believe that is the real reason? Gotta be deeper than that.

Well, I'm trying to be diplomatic here. It's very hard to believe that learning a system for downloading a few files could take a few months. Even a poorly build system can't be that difficult when it comes to downloading and reading files. I'm frustrated like everybody else, trying to understand what is taking so long...

Sacramento *** TIME TO APPLY!!! ***

I don't think you can completely rule out the political machinations of the Steinberg/McCarty/Serna cabal as a possible factor in the apparent decrease of new licenses being issued.
