I have ZERO doubt that this is very political. Just got my sample ballot in the mail where Sheriff Jones is running against Libs like Bera, in the same week all this crap hits the fan.

I agree, If this had happened in July it would be more believable and there is no way the county would not known there was budget shortfall months in advance. I also think the way they left people hanging in mid stride is very wrong.

By doing this, I think is a bad move from the sheriff. I don't think he will get any extra vote from the other camp but definitely alienate the pro 2nd amend. camp. I'm having a second thought about the upcoming election. Just a little heat from the left leaning newspaper and you changed your principal and risk losing you support base. Just my 2 cents.

Perfect response. You are falling under the left's smear campaign against the Sheriff.

He hasn't changed the principles. There is a very good chance that his budget got crimped by the Board of Supervisors, based on the Bee's "reporting" of the story. (If not, then somebody really screwed up on the burn rate of funds for the program.)

The Sheriff is under a political pressure attack from the left wing, including the Sacramento Bee. Here's today's editorial page cartoon on another thread on this.

Of course I'm not going to vote for Ami. I'm just disappointed that the Sheriff didn't hold his course and stand up to them.

Well I guess I will have time to get a good one for carry. G22 and full size 1911 is kind of big to conceal. Also I'm hoping that the requirements are still the same when it's back especially the "good cause".

This is 100% not the case. I'm sure we can't imagine the pressures sheriff Jones faces on a regular basis from the crazy libs.

I was just at the Hurley office for a live scan (non-CCW related). It was weird (and sad) to see that room completely empty.

There was a sign in the window stating they were open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for CCW renewal and address change appointments only. I don't know of that was an old sign or not, but if you have a renewal coming up, you may want to call them (or stop by) on Tuesday or Thursday to see if they can get you in.
