Just scheduled my issuance appointment. here's my timeline:

Initial interview: 11/24

Application approved: 12/23

Livescan: 1/12

livescan complete: 3/16

issuance date: 3/21


mind you, i waited almost a month to get my livescan done because of funds.

by the way, i just want to thank everyone for helping each other out in this thread and answering the dumb questions that have already been answered 1000 times. it gives me a little more faith in people and the calguns community. so thanks guys. id buy you all a beer if i could.

Included in the list of items to bring to a (renewal) appointment is something called "range slips". Can someone please school me as to WTF "range slips" are? Thanks.

Its your proof of range qualifications for your carry pistols from your renewal class.

I must have a few flags then because my interview was 2/24/16 and still waiting for my approval/deny. Next Wednesday will be my third week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

If you didn't already get a denial letter you're good. My first time I applied I got the denial letter within 2 weeks.

From the instructions:

Step 4 - You will receive notification, generally within 30 days, whether your application for a Concealed Weapons Permit has been approved or denied.

Like I posted before range slips are your signed pistol qualification paperwork that you received when you range qualified the pistol(s) for your permit at your renewal class. Or from any pistol that you qualified on within 24 months of your renewal appointment.

They should have worded less ambiguously and just called it proof of current pistol qualification.

Noticed today that there are appointments for initial interview up for several days in April.

Dec 15-initial interview
Jan 16-Sac Sheriff approval email resent, never received original.
So I suggest you call!
Feb 1- Livescan done
Mar 17- Approval to pick up permit email received.
Apr 4- Appointment to pickup permit, haven't don't the course yet.
