Possibly change the title of this thread for the time being?

See this post if your process was halted and you want to be on kcra outlining the issue.

It was just an old plywood boat, with a '75 Johnson, with electric choke. A young boy, two hands on the wheel, I can't replace the way it made me feel.

This is not going to end well. Going on the "news" to talk about concealing guns doesnt help our cause at all. Theyre going to spin this so hard

My initial was 4/14 and received conditional approval on 4/25. Livescan on 4/28. I'm hoping for issuance in July, hopefully not delayed too much.

Anyway, lots of comments here. This is what I received from my instructor yesterday.

We began hearing from some students that their CCW appointments in May and June were being "cancelled by the Sheriff's Department." As supporters and friends of Sacramento County Sheriff, Scott Jones, we communicated with him directly this morning for verification that the "rumor mill" was not in play. His response, as usual, was concise and clear:

"We had to cut some on-call staff all over the department in order to come in under our budget as we come to the end of the budget year." He continued that "I had filled many positions with on-call personnel into the ‪#‎CCW‬ unit, so naturally they were impacted as was the entire department. This will only be temporary through May and June."

Its important to note that there has been no change in policy nor in Sheriff Jone's stances on the vital importance of properly trained and properly armed citizens. His dedication to public safety remains true and consistent and we applaud his determination to continue to operate with fiscal responsibility.

IMO there are better ways to handle the CCW with their "budget" cut. They should not just closed shop and cancel everything.

Great response. Thanks for sharing. We need to get behind Jones

Doesn't the fees cover department cost?

                  No.

FYI, I just called and they said that for those that already had the initial interview, the process will progress normally. They just don't have any new or issuance appointment until July.

Oh, so you are way ahead of me. I'm wondering why someone received the condition approval faster than others. I've seen someone got his/her initial approval within 2 weeks.
