I am so upset right now!! I just received an email stating that due to budget cuts my issuance appointment on Monday has been cancelled. And to keep an eye on up coming openings in July. Ugh!!!

I had my initial interview for new CCW yesterday morning, 8 AM. No mention of this at all, the detective said the committee review would be in a few weeks.

This isn't good.

Just yesterday, someone I know received their conditional approval confirmation via email. Perhaps they will honor completing applications for those who have started the process.

That said, I had my initial interview the same day as the person I know and I've yet to receive any notification.

They say about one month is average for conditional approval. You would have been right in the range to receive it soon. The crappy part is that you may have to wait until July for the conditional, and then add on the time for livescan instead of doing it now.

I hope they just finish up those that already had the initial interview. Are they still doing the livescan or they shut it down too?

I dont know enough about the Livescan process, but my "guess" is, that if you have already been live scanned, it should continue. My understanding is that the DOJ and FBI do the background check, and return the results, so that will likely continue. It just is on hold until staff returns to process them. Someone probably know more than me, and can correct my misunderstandings....

Yes, if you haven't been livescanned, you'll have to wait. Although, I do remember someone saying they did the livescan before the initial. Perhaps you could download and fill out the form, and go to one of the other locations and pay for the livescan to be done. That might at least save you some time. However, it's 120.00 to do, and you might risk losing that if it never comes back or they says it's been too long.

I'll wait to see how's thing going to turn out. Beside I don't even have the conditional approval yet. and maybe won't see it until July.

Here's hpw it works guys.

Get tentative county approval after your initial interview. Than and only than do you livescan. The county approval email contains the form you need for your livescan.

All applications are suspended at this time. Their will be no further initial interviews, issuance appointments or modification appointments until July. The Hurley Office CCW section will be closed down until than. The temporary office closure is just secondhand info I heard from a source I trust but need confirmation.


As far as tentative county approvals are concerned I would assume they are just notifying those that were already approved from the last meeting of the deciders. At my interview appointment the interviewer told me that the people who do the approvals meet the first Wednesday of the month. I don't know if that is still accurate information but if that was the case people would have been notified they just couldn't move forward till July.
