Update:
SCS said that a DOJ clearance sent on 9/27 and re-send today upon my email inquiry. 11/14 for issuance appointment so the whole process is around 7 months. it's a long time for a permit but I'm happy.

Just did LiveScan at Kilgore, got there before they opened, was 2nd in line

Update, got my livescan DOJ approval letter this afternoon via email. Looks like it is taking four months and two weeks right now, so mine was right on.

Whew!!!

Congrats and thanks for the info. At that rate I'm looking at 10/27 for me.

So, considering what you must know about what's already in the works here, you still feel it's unlikely? Share whatever inside info you have that leads you to that conclusion (if possible).

Don't see Jan1 as a date which spells doom. But in the years to come Dems will indeed do what they can to stop CCW's from being issued in this State. They will need to make some changes in the law to achieve their goals.

I never said Jan 1. Maybe after the 20th or so. Might take a few weeks or months after that.

Or maybe it won't happen at all. You'll know a little bit more about the likelihood after Nov. 8. And no changes in the law will be necessary.

From a different county but have a good friend that is getting ready to start the process for Sacramento county. He has his first appointment in two weeks. Just trying to confirm if personal protection/self defense is excepted as a good cause for Sacramento?
Are there any other curve balls in the Sacramento county ccw process he should know about?

Yes.

No.

The major challenge is getting appointments and awaiting DOJ clearance on the LiveScan.

I took the form from the best hand gun training website has an excellent format .
I used for defence of self and family, when I had apoiment the person that checked me is look at my proof of resadence and asked me specifically if my letter said " for self defence "
