My glock doesn't have night sights so I ordered a set of XS Big Dot. I don't want to loctite them on just to find out I can't use them.
The DOJ roster states that all guns on the roster are approved with or without night sights. While it doesn't talk about aftermarket installation, it would seem to indicate that they don't mind about those.

I read somewhere that Sac Sheriff will not accept CCW refresher course if it is over 30 days prior to your renewal date.

Based on above and my change in residence last week plus I want to change 1 of the firearms on my permit, I waited to schedule a class and renewal this week.

Well, I have a class, but the earliest appointment is May 8th, which is 2 weeks AFTER my permit expires.

Am I going to have to do EVERYTHING over again? Can I carry during that time?

      WTF!!!

Just shoot Amber an email. She's very nice and will let you know. They may make an exception if that's the case because of the back log :-) please let us know what comes of this!

I was hoping someone has been through this already and they could answer my question.

I emailed her this morning and left a voice message.

I will follow up with what happens.

            Rant!
So appointments where added 3/31... I've been checking the web page three times a day, sometimes more, for over a year. I've never seen a single appointment available, except the blackout dates on the old calendar, and have yet to see a single email notifying me of any new appointments opening up.
I really question how many appointments they take per day and how many they added on the 31st.
            End rant.

Read the other Sacramento county forum https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/...0#post10990600 to read others rants about this. :-) The have been releasing 350 apts at a time and notifying the 1st 500 people on the notification list. If you are not in the 1st 500 you won't be notified. As apts are made the next 500 are notified on the next release day. The are doing apts all day 2 days a week last I heard. Addin special days occasionally. Hope this helps :-)

You may want to put yourself on the sheriffs email list, this is the ONLY way to get accurate info about available appointments. By the way everyone my appt is next week I'm very anxious!

Wife went for her apt on 3/7 and has not received any mail. She called and talked to Amber this morning and was told it would be sent in the next couple days.

Why Ammo Depot? I'm done with them since they decided to gouge on ammo prices.

I wasn't aware that they started doing that. I only buy online anyways. I took their NRA basic pistols course and it wasn't bad, and more imporantly, they were the only place in town who had spots open when I registered a couple weeks ago.

Yeah, last time I was in there they wanted $1/round for pretty much all the rifle ammo. I laughed and walked out.
