Greetings! Let's hope that the third time's a charm!
I had my first Livescan 10/17/2014 . . . after a couple phone calls over a couple months to see what the hold up was, finally found out that through no fault of my own (poor fingerprints), I was a reject. My paperwork was laying around, doing nothing. Soooo, had my second Livescan 03/19/2015
Today, 05/14/2015, Livescan for the THIRD time! Same issue, I guess. The last reject letter was dated May 5.
THIS time I went to the Kilgore station. Was fingerprinted there years ago with no problem.
I think my initial interview was 9/11/2014. At this rate, I'll end up celebrating an anniversary of some kind!
<<sigh>>
I hope they get it right this time.Comment

Read up on friction ridge, look at good and bad prints on the web, then when you see good prints you know what they are. You should see black ridge detail that show the highs of the friction ridges, the things that allow you to grip, and the lows should all be in white.
They should not be one black blob. Nor should they be gray. Evenly rolled prints are what they should be. If you are not happy with the prints, tell them to re-roll you again while you are there. If they won't, go someplace else.
Same with your prints on the actual CCW. If I cannot hit it, I return it.Primum Non Nocere

At the Sac location, she used alot of water to get my prints, but really didn't tell me there was an issue with dry skin.
The guy @ Kilgore was great, he took his time, explained everything, etc. I think there was an issue with only 2 fingers this time. And it looks like they can only redo it so many times. Part of it was the computer didn't think a certain finger matched the grouping. So he had to verify that that was the correct finger. And he didn't use a drop of water. (of course I put on lotion again while waiting in the lobby)
He also was looking for a letter to specify WHY the prints were rejected . . . so he had to do some research before he did my prints. And he was surprised I was sent for a 3rd time, and I thought the same. I think normally they have to do more of a manual background at this point.Comment

Automated systems are fun. Are you at the six-month point from initial approval? If so, the system is probably automated to kick you out.Comment

Last Sept to now, so yeah, 9 months. An email from Amber said it must be a mistake. I hope so, although I'd like to see the criminal background they supposedly had on me in my denial letter! LOLComment
