Yes, Birth certificate is on the checklist of items needed. As for the "passport", not sure if you were thinking this would work in place of the birth certificate or for the "passport photo".

I was 100% certain it was with the rest of our documents but it's not. I guess I'll be in line in Norwalk early tomorrow morning.

I took the passport pictures and have that. Everything else is there. Just the damn birth certificate. I was hoping maybe my actual passport would work but guess not.

FYI, I would wait to get the money order / cashier's check until you get the call to pick up your permit. Some money orders /cashier's checks are only good for 90 days. With the time between interview and call averaging 5-6 months, your money order / cashier's check may be expired before then.

Also, the expiration on your CCW is 2 years from when you pick it up. So if they call you today, but you don't pick it up until May 1, that's OK. They will PRINT your permit when you pick it up, and the expiration date will be two years FROM WHEN YOU PICK IT UP.

Kudos to Yezzo and the support staff, they made it fun and easy to obtain. Good luck to those waiting and if your considering getting one. Just do it!!

P.S. I just called the Livescan number and both agencies are reporting still in process. Save yourself the headache and hassle. Don't bother checking this.

Thanks!! Hard to tell but hopefully soon for you. gvelas2A got his within 2 months of his initial interview and was done after us. I was kind of worried that maybe a denial was going to be coming. But they are doing their best to try and get everyone taken care of. The main issue is the Livescan since they are coming back out of order and sooner for whatever reason. Good luck!!

I need some help. My interview that I set up almost 2 years ago is coming up in June. I haven't done anything yet. My business has had me real busy the last few months. But I have some free time now and I am ready to get on it. What should I be doing first? Thank you.

In my opinion the best bet would be to go through about the last 20 or so pages of this thread, you should have all of your bases covered there. You can address specifics after that.

So interview went pretty good last Thursday. I had everything except one item. My good cause statement was business related according to the sheriff so I need a letter from the company I work for explaining what I do. Now here's the issue, my company per policy cannot give me such letter. So now I'm stuck. Unless I come up with a different good cause this is not going to happen.

So I'm asking anyone in this group if someone can please help me out. Maybe we can talk over the phone, that would be great.

I was in the same boat last month, what I did was to slow down, re-read all the Riverside information, spend a couple of hours re-writing and word smithing and submitted my revised GC. Deputy looked at it and said "looks good to me". You can do it too! It just takes thinking it thru and a little elbow grease.
