Thanks for this post. Best advice in regards to holsters. I was thinking how the F am I going to be switching out holsters. Universal holster from Walmart and done. And to be honest, because I haven't had a permit and ranges don't allow you to shoot from the holsters, how do you know if any given holster is going to work until you try it out.

I've used drop leg holsters in Iraq and chest rigs. At one point I was thinking of taking that since Im used to it but then started thinking, I dont want to seem all commando at range day lol. Uncles Mike's holster and done for range day.

Is there a model number or a link for the Uncle Mikes holster you are referring to? I am looking online and only finding ones that are a single size not a "fits" all holster

You will have time to switch. 10 people shoot at a time. You got back get a different gun and holster and stand in line again. Do that over and over till your done with all your guns.

They have you draw from your holster at the qualification? The web sight states that you start from a low ready position. It only mentioned that they inspect the holster that you will use.

Yea, you are holstered until the line is live. Then they put you in a low ready, fingers off trigger, then they will command to make ready to fire. Then command to bring up. Then start firing.

They aren't fits all holsters... It is simply a holster that all the guns set in OK. This is pretty much what I used... It worked fair for the XD subcompact, Shield, and G19... The holster was a terrible fit for the LCP, it was lost deep in the holster, but still usable for qualifications.

Just get a nylon holster that fits your largest gun, then the smaller ones will obviously work good enough for qual purposes.

^^June 3rd? Are you sure that is the correct date? I thought I was told June 6th. Just confirming so I don't show up on the wrong day.

I am pretty positive it is June 3 but I better check. I thought that they were always on Saturdays

I'm sure your right. I went back thru my emails and I have 2 emails from the deputy. One says the 3rd and the other says the 6th. The 3rd make more sense, I had always heard they were on Saturdays too. I thought the 6th was kind of strange. Im sure it's just a typo. See you out there.

Question.... After my interview (if approved to move on) I will be given paperwork for live scan.... correct?
As far as range qualifying.... I want to do it at the facility in Indio. After completion do they give me paperwork or will it be sent directly to the CCW office? Just wondering if it will slow down the process if I wait to do it until after the interview. Thank you.
I wont ever say "CLIP" again... It is a magazine.....
