Congrats! And that's quick. Did you do anything in particular to get an interview date less than 45 days after applying? Was 8/3 the original interview date available when you applied online? My updated Orange County timeline:

I found my own answer. If you applied before SB 918 goes into effect (if it does but I assume it will), your application is grandfathered in under the current rules except for "good cause." This is found in what would be new PC 26205 (b) "In determining whether to approve or deny an initial or renewal application, the licensing authority shall apply the statutory requirements in effect as of the date the licensing authority received the completed initial or renewal application, except for the requirements in former subparagraph (2) of subdivision (a) of Sections 26150, 26155, and 26170. For initial or renewal applications submitted prior to the effective date of the act that added this subdivision, the licensing authority shall give written notice to the applicant indicating if the license under this chapter is approved or denied within 120 days of receiving the completed initial or renewal application, or 30 days after receipt of the report from the Department of Justice described in paragraph (2) of subdivision (a) of Section 26185, whichever is later."

I applied for my CCW the day before SCOTUS'S decision so I beat the rush of applications after good cause was no longer required.
When I submitted my application the original interview date was set for the end of September 2022. Within days I received notification that my interview had been moved up to mid-September. Approximately 1 week later it was moved up to 8/3/2022. I was actually very surprised that I was able to interview so quickly.
I'm not sure if it mattered, but when I applied online I submitted everything that might be required, the only things that were requested after that was a photograph and my training certificate. Maybe OCSD had everything they needed and looked at my application as "low hanging fruit" and just got my application processed and out of the way?Comment

I too submitted everything they could possibly need. What kind of photograph, like a passport photo? Otherwise, I submitted references, POST certificates, etc.I applied for my CCW the day before SCOTUS'S decision so I beat the rush of applications after good cause was no longer required.

8/11/22: asked for more documentation, 1 more utility bill, selfie picture, uploaded online.

>>>now i need to schedule for training soon!Comment

Wow! I applied only 4 days after you and my interview isn't until 9/29! It's been moved up once from 11/30 to 9/29, but that's still a ways away. I submitted everything they could possibly want, even my P.O.S.T. training records from my LEO days years ago and my Livescan has fully cleared. The "slippery slope" is not a fallacy; it is a strategy.Comment

Via an email they asked for a "passport" style photo taken against a plain background. You can take a selfie against the wall like I did.Comment
