Do you receive an email confirmation now saying you app was submitted successfully because I only got a text.

I've been reading various things. Do you wait to be notified to get a live scan or can you already initiate it since it takes so long.

8/9/22 - Live Scan completed at OCSD Public Records Counter (320 N. Flower)
8/9/22 - CA & FBI - Completed | Firearms in progress

I was able to move my appointment from 5/30/23 to 5/9/23.Yay...

Don't wait on Live Scan boys n girls. The sooner the better if you want any chance of getting your appointment moved to an earlier date. Go, go, go.

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for training. TBH I'd rather just do an 8 hour course. I'm in the Anaheim Hills area.

My renewal timeline:
6/7/2022: submitted renewal on Permitium.
8/11/2022: received email confirming renewal.
Received call from OCSD asking for payment, new permit being mailed to my home.
Kudos to OCSD CCW unit, they are overwhelmed with applications and are doing their best to work through them as fast as possible.
And Thank You Sheriff Barnes.

IMHO: submit ALL the documents you need when you do your application. Provide everything, so they don't have to get back to you, which takes time and resources.
They treat CCW holders like customers, and are very professional. Many commercial companies can learn a thing or 2 about customer service from OCSD CCW unit.

About 3 months give or take a few days. The hold up is usually the firearms portion of the livescan which for me took about 2 months so you should get your's much quicker since your's already cleared...of course, depending on the stack of applications they now have to process.

The interview is the biggest bottleneck these days. Post-NYSRPA (why do people call it Bruen?) influx completely overwhelmed the licensing unit at OCSD. I personally don't understand the need of the interview. Then again, I am a proponed of a Constitutional Carry.

You can do the livescan before the interview appt? I was waiting till after my interview in October to get the green light to start the livescan?

Yes, you can. It's just you are risking your money, in a case of a negative interview outcome
