The two years is set by the legislature. It's part of the Penal Code. But yes, a permit that is valid for longer would be nice.

You mean like, you are an 18yo with no criminal history, so here is your lifetime until revoked due to violent crime conviction CCW permit? Because that'd be, I don't know, the Constitutional version.

        Congrats dude.
Reading timelines from the community was helpful, so I wanted to share mine.

No, not leveling off or not doing appointments. Moving forward in October and on its only from morning (Not sure of first appointments) to noon. I was just waiting for my interview and decided to chat with the cute girl behind the receptionist desk. She said the level of applicants is still coming in high demand and they are in the process of renewal periods for when the influx of applicants started. She said most of the investigators are only part time and they are reducing their staff by 1 and making the rest all part time.

            That's what she told me.

I also emailed OCSD today requesting an update on my application. Imagine my great pleasure to be told my DOJ came in last week and that my file was submitted for final approval.

I followed-up by asking if I could expect a pickup appointment in 4-6 weeks. They wouldn't commit to a timeline, but I am happy nonetheless. I'm hopeful it'll happen by mid Nov given a weeklong family trip.

                      Best wishes everyone.

Mods please remove the Fing pecker from the OC CCW screen. It is old and disgusting.

I wonder if he is complaining about the "Thumbs Up" icon in the thread listing for the "Calguns Concealed Carry County Information Forum"...
