Your GC is solid for OC standards. Whether you think your record is sealed or not, they'll be able to see it, so be upfront about everything.

I had my interview this morning and it went great. The people there were really nice. I was about 30 minutes early. They first went through my application and took my thumb print and took a picture in the front office. Then they called me back.

The interview itself only took 15 minutes max. They said my good cause is well written and solid. They answered my questions and off I went. Did my livescan and now it's the waiting game.

Thanks everyone for all the good advice. As stated before, be upfront about everything. I was upfront about past pot use when I was a teenager and he just asked if I've used it since.

If not too personal, consider sharing your GC with others who are applying.

It appears that all reasonable GC statements are currently passing with flying colors in OC...

Not a problem. My home was broken into. A few days later they came back and stole a car using a spare key. A few weeks after that there was a homicide across the street from my house. I also talked about working nights and it not uncommon for me to be in bad areas and out of sight of the general public. I included all police reports.

Glad it went smoothly, a couple more months, and you'll have your plastic card

Thanks I can't wait! Quick question, I ordered a xd subcompact. Do I just qualify with it then turn in the paper work when I go to the final interview? Or do I have to wait for the final interview then come back and turn it in?

If you have more than one firearm or thoughts of purchasing another, I suggest you qualify them all at once. Once you qualify it, email your certificate to OCSD and they'll keep it in their file.

They will ask you to bring the hard copy when you pick up your card.

If you qualify with a firearm after you picked up your card, you'll have to make another appointment with them.

The thing I like most about the CCW is that you can have your loaded firearm around you at all times. I don't mind taking it in the car when I go to LA. I don't wear mine all the time at all, but it's near or in my topbox on my bike. It's a very comfortable feeling and you never have to worry about LEO - just show them your card and tell them you have your weapon. And I can drive across the state and into AZ and never bat an eye. It's very comforting.

Clearly an easy decision for them. You are, even in restrictive counties, the kind of person who should easily qualify.

People ask what if any additional documents to bring to their interview, these police reports are a perfect example of the kind of appropriate documents to bring.

Let us know when they issue you your LTC card.

To be clear I didn't have the actual police reports. I just had the report numbers, but I agree, you should have as supporting docs if possible.

To me the easy part is done. Now comes the hard part in picking wear type of holster I want. I definitely don't want to invest in a bunch of different holsters.

Expect to buy more than one holster in your life as you pursue the mythical "perfect holster".

Check out some of the holster threads for advice.

The Alienware/Crossbread tuck style holsters seem to be very popular at this moment.

What is with the CA DOJ Fingerprint system. I already received a call saying that my application was being forwarded to the LT but the automated line says the checks are still in progress.
My opinion on the CA Government:

I have a concern about getting ccw in OC. All my guns are registered at my parents address in which when I purchased my guns I was living there at the time. I am currently living my significant other. All my paperwork for my gun license and guns shows at my parents address. Would getting my CCW be affected by that.?
