The current lead time is 3-4 months. They will move your date next time they run another reschedule.

I think in part this depends on whether your job figures materially in the reason(s) for your application, even after the SCOTUS ruling. This has been captured previously in the thread, but that was back when a GC statement was a more important element of the application.

Did you apply before the recent ruling? Was your job part of the significant interview conversation?

Readwhat they gave you. Does it say business or home address needs to be updated when changed? Stick to that

I searched everywhere online but can’t find anything… is a locked container the only solution in situations like this?

There’s a few threads on this, but yes.

Locked container and out of sight. And you can’t be on PO property either (if it’s not in a shared plaza).

While the current leadtime is 3-4 months, I would really wait on the training until your interview is moved closer. Then again, you are only risking $200+, right?

How long does it take to get that call typically? The email said I could try calling in to as well but the few times I called, no one picked up.
Did you get to ask any questions during the interview? I want to ask them to use my mailing address like is on my CDL rather than my home address as I have actual reason to need my home address to be confidential. My guns are all registered at home but all public documents except guns have my mailing address.

My interview is tomorrow. I feel like I'm 10 and it's Christmas Eve. LOL

I just did this with 2 guns given to me by my Dad. I submitted an interfamilial transfer online but 3 months later they were still pending. So I took them to a friendly pawn, pawned them, paid one month pawn and transfer fee bailed them out the next day. I had to wait 10 days to pick them up but they're both DROSd now. The interfamilial transfer still shows pending.

I had my interview this morning. Scheduled for 8:15 but I logged in at 8:00 and she came on and started at 8:05. Interviewer was extremely nice, good sense of humor. All she did was go through my application to make sure everything was correct. She had a few questions because my driver's license is still confidential even though I have not been an LEO for over 30 years. She also asked if I've ever been involved with an incident involving a firearms. I told her only while "on duty" during my LEO time. I had already submitted all documents requested including training certificate and even my POST training records, ancient as they are.

I told her that when I was a brand new deputy in Madera California in 1979 all you needed to get your CCW from our sheriff was to take a 10 question written test on gun safety. An old guy came in to apply but he couldn't read. I asked the sheriff what to do. He said: "read him the questions, right down his answers, make sure he gets them all correct, then give him his permit." That sheriff was the best boss I ever had. She laughed and said that different people are clearly running the state now! LOL

She said I'd be approved and would receive an email after which I could call and pay. Start to finish timeline:

                      6/29/22 3:00 p.m.: applied online
                      11/30/22 (original interview date scheduled
                      7/11/22: completed livescan
                      7/11/22 FBI completed
                      7/19/22 DOJ completed
                      8/11/22 Firearms completed
8/11/2022 email advancing interview to 9/29/22
8/11/22 all documents submitted under assumption SB 918 would pass
9/1/22 email from CCW unit requesting that I re-uploan utility bill and passport style photo
                      9/29/2022 8:05 am Interview completed

So exactly 3 months from application to interview.

I had to look it up, but you actually applied post-NYSRPA vs. Bruen. For some reason when I was first reading your timeline I was thinking "that guy applied one day before the decision was released."

Update the thread when the permit is actually received.

Yes, I applied a couple days after Bruen but it was coincidence. I hadn't heard that Bruen came down so I submitted "good cause," etc.

My interview was the morning but I haven't received an email re: results, though she said there were no problems with my app approved and it could take a coupl of days.

From what I remember you can't even enter the parking lot of a post office regardless if the pistol is locked in the car

Kudos to Orange County Sheriff. These people are more friendly and professional than 90% of the for profit businesses I deal with.
