8/20/21 sent an email just checking if they got my renewal app - received a reply in less than an hour stating they had everything and the process was taking 90-120 days right now.
9/7/21 (tomorrow) current permit expires. 118 days since app was submitted.

Still waiting. Hopefully not much longer. The funny thing is I thought I was submitting my renewal with 87 days to go on my current CCW but it turned out to be 118 days (I screwed up and got my date calculations wrong, never was good at math, LOL) but the website allowed me to apply.

Any of you waiting over 3-4 months have a CCW due to credible threats against you or have an Investigator assigned to a case # or DR # ?

So I guess that's a negative. That's the situation I've been in and my add a gun took 3 weeks, and my new one since I was out of state when it expired. to less than a month.

I guess they are really overloaded

Meanwhile, in 21 states, you can carry without a permit,
as long as you meet basic rules

Anyone that can get out of this state, should consider doing so, it’s only going
to get worse, in many ways …

Anyone know the current number of permits currently issued in OC?

My interview with OCSD is complete, and went well. They were very professional, and went over what was expected. I just need to get the initial CCW course knocked out. Has anyone tried San Clemente Firearms training?

I have my interview in three weeks but have already done my training through Artemis in Lake Forest. I highly recommend Artemis.
Did OCSD contact you through email prior to your interview date with a Zoom link?

Yes, I received a phone call and an email about a week prior to the interview. The email had a link for the Microsoft teams meeting.

You'll get an email stating a refund was given unless they did fixed their system to accept online payment.

                              My timeline for renewal.

                              5/13/21 - Training completed
5/23/21 - Submitted renewal app and paid online
                              07/21 - CCW expired
9/21/21 - Rec'd email regarding refund. I then sent an email inquiring about my status.
9/22/21 - Approved but pending new DL needed as previous one had expired. DL updated within the hour of approval. Spoke to the person handling my case and she mentioned to just shred/cut/toss my old expired card. New one will be mailed out to me once payment has been rec'd.
9/23/21 - Got call from the office for payment but missed it due to being at work with no reception. Called back within the hour (first attempt) and paid over the phone.
                              9/27/21 - Rec'd new card through mail.

So 137 days till new card was in my hand.

I called and after one ring was connected to a processor. Gave all my info and was told license would ship tomorrow to my residence. Processor also told me since my license expired in June, that they would give me three extra months on the expiration date on the new license. Nice.
9/18/21 - Received license. Expiration date on license was set for 9/18 also.
So if I understand it, you did not get 3 "extra months" you simply got a license that expires exactly two years after the date it was issued. As far as i know, that is standard procedure in all counties.
