I submitted my training completion last week of September and emailed them 2 weeks ago was told it was pending final-review. Is that a automated response? Has it taken anyone else this long recently? Almost 4 months..

First post. I turned in training material back in Oct 22. At the time, trainer who was LAPD says he was seeing pickup approximately 30 days after submission. It's coming to its 3rd month and no call yet (LASD). I'm crossing my fingers I did not miss it with all the junk calls we get. I wonder if having more than one pistol listed was an issue. I do am happy to see someone here who got his recently and he submitted a week prior to me. Also happy that people are fighting for our rights in regards to SB2, thank you, good luck to us all and stay safe.

All you can do is provide her information (Denmark contact info). Her opinion on guns doesn't matter. They're asking questions about you. Not your fault if she refuses to answer their questions.

They have to be willing to serve as references. The very first sentence says:

Please list the names and contact information of three persons willing to serve as references.

I was with the same damn person for almost 26 years lol. Dating was and is not something I am interested in at this stage of my life (have had a few ?dates? but haven?t dated anyone as such since my divorce). I prefer it that way.

I do still have contact (on friendly terms) with an ex gf from the 80?s 😅.

Hi all, over on Reddit a user commented that LASD is not interviewing applicants who have not completed their live scan first, is this a thing? I don’t remember seeing that on the application (applied 08/01/2022)

There's a section on the LASD website that states if you applied prior to 08/01/2022 to perform a live scan.

Just got a pre-interview call.

Asked for DL, Passport and utility bill - as well as live scan.

I emailed them all back (plus my training docs). I was told I had two days to reply or my application would be considered withdrawn.

This was the required step for my app to be assigned to an investigator.

I hand delivered by original application in early July 2022.

They're really tightening up timelines for us, 2 days?! They gave me 10 back in August to reply back with those documents.

I've heard they're working on paper applications which mine is. 4 months since I submitted training and no call yet.

Youre right on the button at 08/01/23. Are you in a Sheriff contracted city?

I havent heard or read that specifically but at your point in the process you might want to get one done. Although, its up to you. I have seen a few people talk about something like this, and it may be a new thing since rolling out the new online permit system.

I know a few people have posted here that deputies have advised that the Live Scan doesnt expire.

I don't know if they've changed their procedures since I first applied, but on my first application, they contacted me by phone to set up an interview and soon after I received an email saying that I should go ahead and do the Live Scan with instructions to print out a fingerprint form that was on the LASD website.

Process update.. I had my phone interview today. I was informed that my file was pending the live scan results with the DOJ. Assuming the DOJ clears me then my file needs to be approved by my investigator?s supervisor. He said to wait for the proceed to training email and it could take between 3-5 months. Small steps in the right direction.

What date did you submit your application? Congrats on finally hearing from LASD.
