Looks like the answer is: 4 for new applications & 1 for renewals
Could be out of date, another reason to support CRPA & their lawsuit against LASD. Kostas Moros is on this site as "meanspartan"

81 days.... don't forget the holidays were in there too...

And to answer how i knew they had received them? They reached out to me because of a problem with one of my guns that i bought thru Turners... they listed it as a .22. Didn't want to delay so just told them roll without it. I still have two guns on my list.

How was it with the hybrid course? I am considering taking their class again also to redo the whole thing over for the 16 hours

              I just got the email,

              Hello CCW Applicant,
You have been authorized to complete the firearm training course.

I had the interview on 1/23/2024 and today 2/26/2024 I got it.

Any recommendations for a certified training course??

I would recommend Medic Up Consulting, they are a good group of people. Very well instructed and lots of information broken down. Ron is a Sheriff for LASD so he's there instructing as well.

They host their live fire and qualifications at Burro Canyon in the Glendora Mountains. I took their class last year as a gamble in hopes I would get a call to interview or Proceed to training by the end of 2023, but that didnt happen so I will say for me still a good spending to learn and be involved in that class. I will however take their class again maybe next month.

I'm in the same area, and I'm actually going through WCPD for my ccw since that's only been a 2 month process from start to finish (to my final interview), compared to a 2 year process through LASD from June 2022 (still have not gotten an interview call yet, even though they confirmed they have my application and cashed my money order back in Sep 2022). Granted it's costing me a lot more, but I'm willing to accept that.

I considered the Medic Up course since it's "closer" to me, but ended up going with the VIP CCW Services course instead because their qual is at an indoor range (LAX or FT3). I didn't want to gamble being outdoors if the weather was bad at this time of the year, but that's just me. Otherwise, I would've tried out Medic Up.

Josh at VIP was really good and he's LEO in the area. He also let us demo their new shooting sim and had everyone in the class try out a different scenario (my qual class only had 5 people that day). Course price was on par with Medic Up and I liked the format of two 4hr Zoom classes at your convenience that fits your schedule, and then the 8hr range qual at LAX range. The only thing I would say was a "con" from the whole experience was the drive home from LAX range back to West Covina during rush hour traffic at 5pm on a Monday, but that had no impact on the class experience itself. I could've gone to FT3 Tactical range as it's closer and an easier drive home, but the dates at LAX worked better for my schedule.

Just throwing out another option to look into, as I just completed their 16hr initial course and can provide feedback.

I would want to do Medic Up but I work 12hr shifts 6am - 6pm. You mentioned to do the zoom class to our schedule?

Has anyone (who has been asked to submit initial documents, not the training documents) in the last few months, had an interview? I submitted my documents 12/26, and haven't heard from anyone there yet.
