Guys, if your livescan fully cleared and it's been over 6 weeks, email CCW_unit@lasd.org to confirm if they sent proceed to training email or not. Mine cleared on 8/10 and no email. When I asked them to confirm, they said they sent proceed to training email on 9/19. I got a reply within an hour.

I just called the Los Angeles Sheriff CCW unit to speak with someone to confirm that I'm in their system. I submitted my application and paid at the Sheriff's office in Calabasas on July 23, 2022. The deputy told me I'm not in their system yet, but she said it takes a few months to input into the system. She also told me they're scheduling interviews for people that submitted their application in March 2022, but that it should move a lot faster since local PD need to process their own CCW applications.

7/23/2022: Application submitted and payment made at the LASD Station

Just finished my livescan. Spent $119. LAPD has a list of approved training vendors on their website. I'm thinking of just doing it before the interview just to give it to speed up the process.

I'm getting annoyed too. Got a call Tuesday for a signature and bill, but nothing since then. Thought it'd be pretty quick after that. I just passed my 3 week mark

7/24/21 - Check Cashed
4/14/22 - Call for CCW Appointment
4/15/22 - CCW Appointment @ 7:00 AM
4/15/22 - live scan completed

07/26/2022 UPDATE :

4/15/22 - CA Completed
4/15/22 - FBI Completed
7/22/22 - Firearms Completed

09/22/2022 UPDATE :

09/19/22 - Received email to proceed with training

10/21/2022 UPDATE :

10/30/22 - Signed up for CCW Class @ Route 66

A few in this thread have. Most say they went past 90 days to get it renewed.

I submitted my renewal 90 days prior to expiration. I was contacted for a phone interview a few days before my permit expired. A week later they contacted me to pick up my renewal permit. By then my permit had expired for a few days. Just fyi I had already completed the renewal training and submitted it prior to the phone interview. If you haven’t already, I would email them.

I have a friend who applied to LAPD said there were 800 people in front of him. He got the call for the interview for early December. Is LAPD just really on top of it? I was surprised to hear how quick he got his interview scheduled.

If this is true, LAPD is making LASD look like complete amateurs. What an unexpected breath of fresh air.

Their fees are also higher than LASD...
