Me too... now back to the waiting game

Shocked how quickly they are getting interviews set up!

I'm already jealous that they are getting interviews 2-3 months out from calling, while I waited 10 months for mine
I called LAPD after SCOTUS ruling and got the call for interview end of Sept. Interviewed early October and had live scan with me @ interview. Getting training done this weekend and should be getting the proceed to training email soon according to the detective. Sounded as if they are trying hard to crank through their applications requests as fast as they can on Mondays @ the LAPD Academy. They have multiple detectives doing interviews every 15 minutes.

Thanks for the update. Might try to get my livescan done before interview once I have a date.

Can I drop it off at the local station just a few blocks away? Or will I have to mail it to the downtown address they give me?

Does the address on our drivers license need to match our proof of residency address? i.e. does my utility bill address need to be the same as my DL?

              Hi all,

Please skip this post if you want as it's not that interesting to most.

So I took my 8 hour CCW course in July '22 and qualified on my firearm. My course instructor gave me a Live Scan to do for LASD and I completed that (didn't write down my ATI number unfortunately), but on July 30th I sent in my completed application and all materials, course certificate, firearms qualification certificate, Live Scan copy, $30 check, an abundance of residence documentation, essentially everything but the kitchen sink

What my instructor told me is that they typically have an "A" pile for people that have all their ducks in a row, and a "B" pile for people who are incomplete or piecemeal, and that providing everything they need will get you to the proverbial "A" pile.

A few days ago I noticed LASD cashed my $30 check. I'm curious if anyone knows if I should read anything into that or if they just cashed it because it was close to 90 days old. Should I expect a call or email to set up an interview? I was fortunate I got my application in before LASD narrowed their criteria as I live in LAPD jurisdiction, but made the cutoff thankfully.

tl;dr what's the timeframe from application check being cashed to getting a call to schedule interview? and what's the timeframe after interview to potential issuance (assuming you completed all requirements in advance of interview)

thank you and have a wonderful weekend
              Giles

Also, if you are applying through LASD, send it directly (with tracking) to the hall of justice address downtown. If you drop it off at an LASD station, they just collect them and bring them downtown, so same destination but with delay and potential for misplacement.

DOJ Wait Time For Intra-familial Transfer

Hi Folks - I have looked at this forum but did not find an answer to this question.

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes the DOJ to process an intra-familial transfer of gun ownership? My father gave me one of his guns and I want to list on my CCW Application. Thanks for your help!

That's great. Wish LASD after all this time would get their ducks in a row!

Yes, DL address and utility bill MUST match for proof of residency

First I've heard of A and B pile. I would think that they get too many apps to sort like that. My dad and I applied same day, fully complete apps. He's had his CCW for a few months now, I am still waiting for my call. No rhyme or reason so I think that A and B pile isn't true personally

Not quiet, this Wednesday 10/26 will mark 4 weeks for me. I believe when you get called they give you a few days, but I am not positive. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one

DOJ is slow. Could very well take several months.
