My training at Route 66 Shooting Sports Park out in San Bernadino was $200 with 3 firearms. They didn't charge extra for having more than 1 firearm, but other places do. Some people in my class only had 1 firearm for their permit, but it's always better to have more than 1 in case your gun breaks or if you get into a shooting, your gun could be held as evidence for as long as 2 years. You can't update your list of firearms until your 2 year renewal period.

        EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2022

The LASD will only accept first-time CCW applications from those who reside within our contract cities or unincorporated communities and encourage applicants residing in a municipality other than those served by the LASD to contact their local police chief and apply for a CCW license.

All first-time CCW applications submitted, received, or postmarked before the indicated date; the LASD will accept and continue to process.

My local pd will be accepting and processing ccw application. I spoke to the Captain and he said he is getting policy and prosedure in place for the applications and will be ready by the end of this month.

I did mail my app back in june 2022 to LASD. But more than likely a year wait.

Should I reapply to my local pd? Process might be faster since its just for the resident of my city.

          Any thoughts? Tips

Can you share what city you live in, so we can start to see which PDs are being proactive vs ones dragging their feet?

Absolutely apply with your local PD, since they may move much quicker with the lighter application load than LASD.

For those of us already issued, hopefully LASD will handle our renewals as they come due in 2023. Renewal is supposed to be both faster and less expensive.

Sheriff AV is live on Facebook/Instagram, looks like the feed has issues.

Did not talk about CCW, live stream issues did not allow for comments.

                            Hey all,

I apologize for the basic question but I am a bit confused about the live scan process. I had it done yesterday and I searched my live scan on the DOJ today and it says:

CA Completed 08/02/2022 - Response will be sent after Firearms is completed
FBI Completed 08/02/2022 - Response will be sent after Firearms is completed
                            Firearms In progress.

Does this seem fast or is it the Firearms that takes 90 days?

                            Thank you

90+ days is what the Firearms is taking. Demand or slow walking them, take your pick on the reason why it is taking so long.
