I'm really glad that shooter did all his steps to get his CCW Permit.

I wonder what his GC color and interview date was. /s

There's about a thousand CCW permit holders in LA county. Maybe two thousand if you count off duty LEO.

Population of LA county is roughly 10 million, so I'm told.

I'm not very good at the maths, but I would assume the defender did not have his CCW permit.

Also, if he did, the cops wouldn't be looking for him. He would have called them.

My guess would be it would be a justified shooting for him but he will probably get in trouble for possession of a firearm which is a misdemeanor but an expensive misdemeanor.

I can’t name the exact incidences but people have shot back and killed an attacker before without a CCW in California and they were not charged with any crime, not even the illegal carrying of a loaded firearm. Of course each case is different.

Even if caught it’s really not that bad especially if you are otherwise a good citizen.

Without additional factors, carrying a loaded firearm is a misdemeanor that is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

How much is your life and the life of your loved ones worth?

(I am in no way encouraging anyone to carry a concealed weapon without a CCW. That would be wrong and illegal.)

Where’d you get idea cops looking for the victim? Video says cops got 2 BGs and are looking for the BGs’ driver.

ETA: this article says cops are looking for both the driver and victim.

Correct, the initial report I read show'd the authorities were on the look out for the victim.
