That was hilarious! LOL
I wonder if anything changed after that comment was made.
At the top of the LASD CCW page, it says:
"The issuance of licenses enabling a private citizen to carry a concealed weapon (CCW) is of great concern to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. In accordance with California Penal Code 26150 et. Seq., and subject to Department policy and procedures, any Los Angeles County resident may be issued a CCW from the Sheriff, if qualified."
"26150 PC. (a) When a person applies for a license to carry a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person, the sheriff of a county may issue a license to that person upon proof of all of the following:
(1) The applicant is of good moral character.
(2) Good cause exists for issuance of the license.
..."
Application Process
"The applicant will thoroughly Complete Sections 1-8, INCLUDING SECTION 7 and Sign Pages 3, 8, and 11, of the Department of Justice Standard Application."
So confusing now.Last edited by dearjohn013; 08-03-2022, 7:39 PM.Comment

The CA attorney general issued a legal alert on June 24 that the good cause requirement may no longer be enforced. The LASD website simply hasn't been updated. The sheriff has been very clear that good cause is now moot and you can leave it blank. That was hilarious! LOL
