The fact that it would take a month to get cards with his name on it is ridiculous.

FYI: LASD will not be issuing new permits until January. I guess they needed to order new hard cards with Lunas name on them and they aren’t expected in until sometime after the first of the year.

Odd, the company I own installs the software and printers for DOD, some local and state agencies, as well as private companies. It's a matter of taking his signature, digitizing it, and changing the name on the template. Should not take more than 5-10 minutes to modify the existing template. The cards are actually white when they get them, the printer places the images on it, then seals it with a clear sheet of plastic to keep it from wearing off as fast. My guess is the changes will be done, but with the Holidays it will takes weeks for him to look at the printed product and approve it.

the reference to Freedom Week 2.0 is because the case was remanded back to Benitez recently and was in his court on Monday, 12/12/2022. There was no updates to the case and it was only up for a status and motion hearing. Although, Benitez is pushing to have this concluded quickly due to his previous ruling. So the standard cap magazine ban could be done away in the next 70 days.

Both. You and I have similar timelines. Mine completed on the 7th and I sent a follow up email in November. Got the generic response of them reaching out to me when needed, etc.

In reference to those of you posting above about your live scan clearing in October. I had my interview and all live scans cleared on the same date which was 9/13. I got my proceed to training email on 12/7.

With the talk of Freedom Week 2.0, does anyone know if there are any issues running (legally purchase) magaiznes over 10 rounds if this does come through today? Specifically for LASD issued CCWs incase that matters.

No issue, I believe it states on their website if they were "legally obtained" they are good to go

I am waiting on my CALL for pickup. I got the email that the training doc received on 11/7/22. I called the CCW unit yesterday and they told me they are waiting on new information from the sheriff.

Should I be worried that I won't receive my CCW now that Luna is the sheriff?

One of the earlier posts here said that the Department is waiting for new cards that have Luna’s name on it and that they would not receive them until at least after the first of January.

I wouldn’t worry about Luna ‘not issuing’. Bruen ruling already made clear that all sheriff’s and chiefs shall issue. And since LASD has been issuing for the last 2 years, there’s no reason to stop that unless they want to go through some serious litigation as stated by a response from Villanueva to a fellow calgunner here. I see him doing something like raising fees or adding an extra step to the process.

I don't think you need to be worried. I thought I've seen others in this thread pick up after he was elected and took over

Interesting, didn't even think about the cards being a possible hold up due to the name
