Update: I finally got a call yesterday saying that I was approved for CCW. My GC at the time wasn't good enough but due to the NYSR&PA v. Bruen, they reversed the decision. HOWEVER, I recently moved to Ventura County so they had to toss my case (I've already applied with the Ventura Sheriff). Here is my timeline:
    6/3/21 - Applied
    12/15/21 - Interview
    1/15/22 - Live Scan Approved
    9/1/22 - Approval phone call

I took training before getting the proceed to training email. My interview was about a week after the 2nd amendment decision. The officer took all my good cause info but did advise they could no longer use it. He also said to go ahead and get training done asap if I wanted to. I took the training and emailed docs just before my firearms cleared. It looked like an auto reply type response was sent back saying my file had been updated but that the docs would need to be resubmitted. My firearms cleared now on Aug 9th, I'm still waiting on that "proceed to training email. I am wondering if I'll get a call to come pickup, and won't really have to resubmit?
They may have you resubmit it again if asked. Just have it ready when they do.

You will resubmit the docs with the email they send you. It's important to have the Subject be what they send: ie, CCW Firearm Training.

The email will have this in the body:
        CCW Firearm Training

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE EMAIL. (in RED)

You are being notified to complete the firearm training course. Print out the Shooting Proficiency Standards form by visiting our website at https://lasd.org/ccw/. Complete the form with the firearms to be listed on your CCW license (up to 3 firearms can be listed).

When the course is completed, the Certified Range Instructor must sign and date the Shooting Proficiency form and issue you a Certificate of Completion. Email the completed forms to CCW_unit@lasd.org. The subject line must indicate FIREARM TRAINING, if it does not, your email will go unread and delay your process. We will contact you when your file is complete and when we are ready to schedule you for a license pick up date.

Please DO NOT ask us for an update.

We only accept firearm training from one of our authorized vendors listed on our web site https://lasd.org/ccw/ . If the training certificate is not from our list of authorized vendors, we will not acknowledge the training.

        Thank you,

        CCW Unit

Question about adding an additional firearm that wasn't listed on the original application:

I listed two firearms on the original application. I since acquired a third and plan to qualify and add that to my permit. Would adding that 3rd firearm delay my approval processing time, since they would have to check it against the DROS/AFS system?

I ask because the "firearms" portion of the Live Scan took about 60 days to clear after CA/FBI cleared me immediately same day.

The permit firearm is not added until the training which is not going to affect the Live Scan at all. Lots of people seem to think the original firearm listed is the one. It's not. Print this form when you go to training, this is the final firearms on your permit: https://lasd.org/wp-content/uploads/...rds_072320.pdf

Yeah, yeah, yes! This arbitrary, capricious and unfair abrogation of civil rights has gone on for over 100 yrs by Sheriffs in California. My testamony was read to Judge Irma Gonzales in District Ct in circa 2010. It was well documented that I was refused CCW (with cause of death threats by bad people) but then joined and donated $$$ as Honorary Deputy Association member of SD Sheriffs Dept. As long as I was paying member I could carry a flat badge and CCW. When I quit paying, my CCW "privilege"was not renewed. This went to Peruta Vs SD Sheriff Gore and Justice Thomas commented on it in 2017 when it couldn't make enough cert votes.

Have any of you had any info about LAPD CCW? I emailed them but no response yet. Anyone made any progress?

                      Thanks.

                        Here is my timeline:

11/9/21 Application mailed, delivered next day
1/3/22 Money Order cashed around this time
8/18 phone call to interview. Set date 8/31
8/31 Interview done. Live scan done. FBI and CA cleared same day
                        9/2 Firearm clear (!!!!!!!!!!)

During the interview, I summited an updated list of guns, and 1 of them were acquired maybe in the past 2,3 months. The deputy checked his list and did not find that gun. The other 2 were on his list. He said he will have to check again. So people, if you plan to carry certain gun, get it as soon as you can and hope it makes the list before they run it, or it might slow your process down. Everytime the deputy has to check something, your file MIGHT get to the bottom of his pile and wont see the light of day for a few weeks.

Two sheriff's department personnel were suspended from duty pending the outcome of an investigation into their alleged involvement in an unspecified "scheme to defraud the citizens" of L.A. County.

2 LASD officers suspended for some undisclosed CCW 'scheme'

What do you think? Selling CCW's to high bidders? This is what 'may-issue' becomes, every single time.

Thanks for clarification. So after training docs are submitted, I assume that window is when LASD will check the AFS that all firearms listed have been DROS'd to the applicant.

Just looking out for anything that might slow down the process during the stretch run from training to issuance.

More info on the two depties involved in the CCW program that were suspended

Two female deputies are involved, Deputy Gisel Del Real and Deputy Carrie Robles who allegedly are close to AV and both report directly to him.

Could it result in some CCWs that they were involved with being cancelled?

There is more to it, they searched a gun store nearby. I wonder how much time this adds to processing? Between this and the baggage the 2 Deputies have from the past, it gives ammo to those who want to see Sheriff V go.
