ArsenalDavid, I think you should have declared those on your application, and indicated "withdrawn".

I would email that info to the CCW unit before your interview and explain what happened during the interview if they ask.

How the heck y'all have your interviews in September just like me and I'm still waiting for my proceed to training email. So frustrating.

I feel your pain. You and me are the red headed step child. I am on day 91 since I interviewed on 10/06/22, and cleared all three live scans on the same date. The Deputy told me, mine will be fast, and recommended I take the firearms training at the end of October, which I did, and still nada. This whole system needs to be revamped. This whole process is all over the place. I know a few guys that interviewed a month after me, that just received the proceed to training email. I guess we just keep waiting for the email. I think this was my downfall as I emailed them 2 months after my interview and followed up at 3 months as well. No calls from me.

So darn petty and childish of them but I think that's what is happening.

I don't see any other reason why being interviewed in Sept, having an FFL 03 license, being in the financial district with the same background checks with the FBI, DOJ, etc (although none of these good cause reasons now matter so they say) making over half a million, having to go to crappy communities where new construction projects are being built and dealing with just the scum of scum neighborhoods would delay me other than these 2 emails I sent them.

For god sakes I've done a live scan 4 times last year for various things having to do with my job, best friend being a government agent, FFL, and CCW....

Thanks for the heads up, but I know I have seen some people post that the CCW Unit will tag you, and push you back. I cannot imagine this being true. I think their system sucks, and that's why you, me and a few others are still waiting. If there is any truth that CCW Unit is targeting PPL that would like a freaking update on our application, every so often. Those Deputies or civilians should be removed from the unit imminently. Just my 2 cents.

Yes but that would relinquish control of this process and make too much sense.

I mean even a rough estimate post application timeline that can be revised every month to update timelines. But you know what that would do? It would show the complete failure of this process and open them up to lawsuits left and right for not doing this in a timely manner. Before all of this I really believed in every system, every DROS process, every internal nuance that I had to go through for my licenses, my work stuff, my guns all of it. This process has really jaded me on how a simple process, a simple right can be controlled and denied or granted by another citizen. I would always hear people talk about this and never really understood until this happened to me. I mean how nutz would people get if they did this with the 1st amendment? Even here in California. Absolutely disgusting

They received my app on Feb 7 or 9th of 2022 and I didn't get a call to interview till Nov. I'd say your in good shape. Still waiting on my PTT email as well.

09/20/21 - Application submitted in person
07/15/22 - Call for interview
07/27/22 - Interview completed
08/12/22 - Livescan completed and cleared
11/07/22 - Proceed to training email
11/16/22 - Training Docs submitted
11/16/22- Training Docs received email
01/08/23 - Call for pickup
01/25/23 - Pick up permit


Note: Call for pickup came from "private number" (I have Verizon)

I got the call on a SUNDAY at 9:30 AM (rumor has it most calls have been made around this time)

wow.. I didn't know they make calls during the weekend too.. all these time, I never paid attention to my phone on the weekends lol... fortunately, they called me on Friday.

LA County - Only Amend Firearms on CCW at Renewal?

I thought I read there was a change that allowed LA County CCW permit holders to amend their listed 3 guns at anytime.

But looking at the LASD CCW site, it seems it has changed back to amendments only at time of renewal. Can anyone confirm or provide links saying otherwise?

My CCW is up for renewal in October so I have to wait until July to start the renewal process (fingers crossed we can even renew with Luna as sheriff).

From the LASD CCW site:
As a temporary measure, in order to process the recent surge in new CCW applications, we will only consider amendments during the license term for the following reasons:

1. Change of address or legal name change
2. Lost or stolen license
3. In the event of a damaged/lost/stolen firearm, a different firearm may be added if that firearm is the only firearm listed on their license. Licensee will need to contact LASD for approval at ccw_unit@lasd.org

All other amendments will be processed at the time of application renewal. This is a temporary measure that will allow staff the opportunity to process the large volume of new applications in a timely manner.
