On an unrelated note- I sent in an application for an AZ ccw about a month ago with my lasd training certificate- anyone know the timeline for the az permits?

That's four in a row in one day... Congratulations...the Arizona takes about 2 months ..they are a little back logged...if you can apply for Utah too..

My friends and I sent our new AZ apps in 1st of Dec. '21., so we will be on on 6th months in next week.


Supposedly if the pattern is still accurate, we have another 1-3 weeks before we get the AZ permits in.

I don’t think you understand how the law works. Everything is legal unless there is a law saying it isn’t. Not the other way around. It is currently legal to own and use standard capacity magazines because of Benitez ruling in Duncan v Bonta. Issuing agencies can put restrictions on their permits to not allow you to use them but you wouldn’t be breaking the law if you did. You will merely be going against their policy in which case they can revoke your license. My don’t poke the bear comment is saying don’t bug them about it so much that they change their policy.

Trust me, it would not stop an overzealous DA, especially in our state, which is as anti-gun as possible. Plus En-Banc already ruled for the state, it's on hold because Duncan et al. plan to go to SCOTUS

Is there an actual statement saying that you can change firearms up until training?
Or is it more of an assumption that it's okay only because some have done it without any issues? Just wanted to be safe since they have to check that it belongs to you during the application interview so not sure if they would again after training or if it will get flagged?

The deputy told me on the interview day that I can add or remove weapons until the training paperwork is submitted to them. So as long as you haven't submitted the training docs, then you can add or remove guns. I initially had 2 guns on the application. I waited for them to send me the email to proceed with training and then qualified with the 3rd gun on the same day and emailed them the training docs.

Thats crazy, I got my AZ CCW last year and from mailing over the application to card in hand was exactly 2 weeks.

Very common. Since app to interview my three CCW firearm taste had changed. Day of interview I resubmitted my updated three.

About a week. Every case is different though. Sometimes they will ask you for more supporting documents. It all matters what you put as your GC.

Livescan in February and cleared in about a month and a half
Training email was sent in April

After they receive the training email, it is about 2-4 weeks for issuance assuming that you are approved and everything is good.
