I already emailed the DOJ and they advised me that they cant provide me with any information and that I need to contact the CCW department. So, I reached out to the CCW department and they advised me to reach out to the DOJ. LOL its like they are playing hot potato here with no answers. Not sure who else I can reach out to or what to do?

CCW department wouldn't have any info as they would get it from the DOJ, I would call rather than email, I've called the DOJ a couple of times and they were really helpful, You can also get a copy of your live scan results, it costs a few bucks and takes approx. 6 weeks according to the live scan site, might be worth doing to see if anything interesting comes back.

Yeah, I have actually tried calling the DOJ at (916) 227-4557 a few times and rings before going to a full mailbox every time.

I did my livescan 04/04/22, CA & FBI cleared the same day. I'm still waiting on the firearms portion to clear. How long would you guys suggest waiting before trying to call DOJ?

Considering that I did my Live Scan on 2-24-2022 and still don't have a clearance from the Firearms portion side you could be waiting awhile. I cant get ahold of anyone at the DOJ via phone and the email response is basically go pound sand. With that said buckle up and wait.

According to Live Scan firearms checks are taking anything from 6-8 weeks, but could take less or more time.

For anyone who hasn't interviewed yet i would advice doing the live scan before the interview, Unless you have something in your past which is bought up during the interview which would prevent you from getting a CCW you will be instructed to do live scan and from what im being told by deputies, they are not looking at doing the live scan prior to interview as 'You' not following instructions.

Calling the DOJ won't really help. They are super backed up now. If you go back into the forum, it was taking people only a week or two to clear. Mines took about 6 and a half weeks to clear. It's just taking long now unless you have had some trouble in the past. That is a different story.

I've already gone through the entire process and the last thing I'm now waiting on is my Live Scan Firearms to Process.
Doesn't sound like those DUIs are the issue. Have you ever been arrested outside California?

I just received a call from the CCW department here in Orange County and she advised me that I'm not the only one that has now been waiting more than 3 months. She also advised me that she emailed the DOJ yesterday in regards to my case and several others on the extended delay. Also, went on to tell me that the last time this happened was at the beginning of Covid. With that said she is hopeful it should be processed soon and will follow back up with me in a couple of weeks. I must say it was nice to here from them and that im not the only one waiting several months.
