Just tossing my hat in there.

I submitted my app.. who knows when now. More than 6 months but leas than a year ago?
I just waited and they called me about 2 weeks ago to schedule an interview.

The interview was about a week after the call, last Tuesday.

The deputy looked through my papers, and only kept a few.
He kept my property tax copy and scep (city compliance) fee copy. I own and manage an apartment building.
After he had those, he didn't care about the c&r/coe licenses, camping pics, but he looked at my copies of tenant texts asking me to come pick up cash (doesn't happen regularly, but it happens sometimes).

I was told to get a live scan, not given a timeline after.
I did get the live scan that day.

The only burble was my glock 23 wasn't registered to me so we couldn't use it on the permit, he said no big deal, the other 2 are fine.
I told him I would check my AFS records and email them to him, which I did. No reply.

The issue? The idiot who registered it put 10mm instead of .40 at the gun store 😐
I also included my glock 19 afs record, I can use that instead if it's still an issue.

I'm wondering if I should go ahead with the ccw training now.. it might speed it up a little if it's 4-5 months out..

Is the class one day (8hrs)? Passing the shooting tests is easy 😄

Btw, there were 2-3 applicants waiting before me, and at least 3-4 waiting as I left.

My interview took maybe 10-15 mins? They're probably interviewing over 100 people there in the course of a day.

My deputy was quite friendly, I'd chat more, but he was pretty busy. On to the next!

yes, with property tax copy or grant deed plus you recevied rent in cash, that make you GC yellow i believe, you still have time to purchase the ccw gun you like, you can bring different gun to complete the traning, it doenst have to match on your application, whatever guns you completed with the instructor, he/she will sign for it and you will have to stick with it for 2 years til your license renew

i would go ahead with the training and submit the cert when you finish, i will defiantly speed things up, at least it did for me.

VIP has an online course and you go into LAX Fire range for the shooting qualification

Is that a cheaper option compared to others?

You should be able to get the FFL to process a correction for you. If not, there are a couple of other options. I know the DOJ refuses to do a caliber correction in the AFS system for SSE's but I don't know if they will for a simple FFL error. The last resort which does work (even for SSE's) is to pawn it and reclaim it. There will be some fees involved, and you will have to pass a background check and waiting period to get it returned, but when it is registered back to you, the FFL must use the actual caliber of the gun, not markings or previous registration data. If you have to go this route, discuss it in advance with the pawn shop and let them know what you are doing and make sure they are on board.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.
