Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good day. From bits and pieces I'm reading, it seems the LASD is cutting down, if not eliminating, granting permits for recreational/wilderness/remote GC arguments. Any insight on why that happened and the prospects for it changing back to light green for recreation?

If I'm not in a profession that allows me to make a GC argument for a permit, what other winning GC arguments are left?

Do you work nights, travel for work, or carry valuable equipment/sensitive items?

I sell bullion coins (gold and silver) in person to buyers I meet on Reddit whom I don't know. And, of course, I transport long guns to/from the range, but I'm not sure that's GC.

Thats a perfect good cause... Villaneuva already stated that he would issue to Jewelry dealers. Do you have actually invoices and and a business licensettax returns?

It's not a business, more of a hobby....

Based on our experience, you need to have an official business license and incorporation form to prove your business owner status.

One guy from our shooting club works in the LA jewelry district as an independent sales and contractor. He was asked to bring in his business license and state of CA incorporation to prove his red GC claim.

I also had to show the same thing for my red GC. I provided the CA incorporation form, and the business licenses from the cities I work in.

That all makes sense. I would expect to need to show documentary proof of any GC claim. Which makes me wonder if I should apply now and potentially be denied, based on mostly a recreation/wilderness GC argument (plus my past Connecticut CCW permit, which expired in 2006), or hold off until/unless a SCOTUS ruling.

Well at the rate they are going, you probably wouldn't get called for an interview until after their (USSC) issues their ruling...

As a business owner, yes, you must show business license, LLC form, etc.

However, it is possible to get a CCW as an independent contractor. I have an assistant instructor for my firearms classes, and she was able to document her GC with bank statements showing my payments to her, as well a a letter from me as her employer/client.

So, for folks who have part time side gigs or hobbies that you're using as part of your GC, documented transactions for your work can be sufficient.
