Interview done and given paperwork to complete Livescan. Unfortunately, I am out of town until the first week of January. I will have to wait to complete it until then.

Deputy emphasized being able to follow the rules or why would I be approved for a CCW from the higher ups. Also said once he submitted my application I will never see or hear from him again.

Appointment: 11/04/21
Live Scan: 11/09/21

Am I just waiting to hear from LASD for the next step? Any guidance is great, thank you!

if you had your interview and live scan. you are just waiting for those results to come back in the report DOJ sends. That is taking around 3 months currently.

I heard the Chief hired a "business process expert"

I would love to poke their brains about the whole process.... Once they get the CCW online portal up, this should drastically speed the currently unacceptably long wait times.

I'm a real estate broker(amen), industrial primarily. Who else thinks we should be armed driving to sketchy party of town showing empty buildings to random folks we dont really know all that well.

Hi all,

This forum has helped me a lot before I even applied. This is my first time posting. I want to reciprocate what I have benefited from every one.

I did my interview today. (I didn't get the call from an "Unknown Caller" or "No Caller ID". I got the call from an actual listed number.) The deputy was very pleasant, punctual, thorough but efficient, and professional. Deputy was completely okay with me completing the firearm training prior to the interview. I simply explained that I made a mistake and thought that I had to complete the training prior to the interview, which was true.

Be prepared to provide supporting documents for EVERYTHING you put on your application. I tried to provide every shred of documents I can come up with. If you think you should provide proof, have the proof ready. If you think you might need to provide the proof but not sure, have it ready anyway. That's what happened to me. The deputy said since I had already completed my firearm training, there isn't anything else I need to do besides waiting after I completed my LiveScan. The deputy finally said if I don't hear back from them in 6-8 weeks after my LiveScan had completed, email the CCW unit. My file will be sent to someone else for a final review and approval. Then, upon my approval, I should expect a phone call to schedule for a pick up. (Pretty much like what everyone else said here.)
