    Had my interview recently...

Part of my cause was that I am an FFL that often carries large amounts of cash to buy entire collections from estates.

I provided the sheriff with a copy of my FFL and COE, a copy of my business license, a copy of bank statements noting the large cash withdrawals of the last 3 years (when I started the business and long before this CCW rush), etc.

The response I received was that "to make my case for cause stronger" that I should provide RECEIPTS for all the firearms purchased and provide PHOTOS of said firearms.

I am not sure where they get off asking for stuff like that. It is a complete overreach. I just need a SCOTUS ruling soon.

Their response suggests that the issue is not the strength of your cause, but the level of your proof. Don't you have some official ATF or DOJ logbook where you are required to record all transactions? I would include that too.

I was asked for pictures of myself at shooting ranges, and they were suprised I had none. I had to explain I don't have a Facebook account so I have no reasons to take pictures of myself. You can bet I now take pictures at all my range visits just for them.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

The more time I spend on this forum, the more sense kcbrown makes.

Did the interview recently. Pretty much a bunch of yes or no questions.
If you smoked marijuana. Then asked if you had a marijuana card. So you better not lie! haha

And apparently they no longer accept green/recreation good causes.

That's kind of a bomb you threw in there at the end. By "apparently" do you mean that your interviewer told you they no longer accept recreational activity whatsoever as good cause?

It seems as they are tightening up on the good cause. Did they tell you to proceed with the livescan or anything like that?

I had recreation and work related good cause in the application. The deputy crossed out the recreation gc statement and said that they don't accept it and focused on the work related gc.

She asked if I had already done live scan and training. I said yes. She said it takes 3 months from the livescan date to hear back from her. Told me to contact her in 90 days if I don't receive an email from her (ccw unit). And told me not to contact her at all until the 90 days pass lol.

I think it all depends on the deputy, some of them get mad when you do it without being told to do so.

I just wrote Matt Rodriguez who is running for LA Co Sheriff on instagram asking his stance on CCW. His response: "I will issue them to law abiding people. I believe an armed society is a polite society. Matt."

I love Villanueva; Hell, hes the one who got us to where we are now, but with other Sheriffs appearing to take a more inviting stance, it makes me wonder if Villanueva will keep his grasp on the next election with all the flack he is having to take.
