Yup. That's why just because you have been given a livescan and told to proceed with training doesn't guarantee issue. You still have to get through the LT. The new LT was probably instructed to be hyper strict.



And if this news is true, which we have already seen is likely, then that is a huge sour to CCW and reflects extraordinarily poorly towards Villanueva. You can guarantee I and MANY others wouldn't be supporting a guy like that. Low transparency, flip flopping and inconsistency. I have a friend who has a near identical application GC/GMC and he was issued. He happened to apply earlier than me. I know for a fact that there is another forum member that as was issued as well with near identical GC.



I have already stated this but timing and luck may have MORE to do with issue than the actual content of your GMC and GC itself. This is not how you gain the confidence of the people who support you. Sorry, it's just not. It's great that Villanueva opened up CCW at all - but if you open up to issue only to flip flop months later. Well, that's not how you win the people. I scoffed at the idea that this was politically fueled but now it's sadly looking so.



It makes sense - all the LG guys on this forum have not been given the proceed to training. Stuck in purgatory. Pretty sure those denials are coming soon. I will eat crow if I am wrong.

Got the training email just a couple minutes ago. I'll send in my docs as soon as I get home. Does this mean they have my livescan results already?

Also, the email says,

The listed training providers have met the minimum standards for CCW firearms training as set forth by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. If the training is not from our list of authorized vendors, we will not acknowledge the training.

Fortunately, my trainer is on this list. I don't remember having to choose one off the list on their website, though. Check your trainers, people!

It seems like if you get the email to proceed with training, LT has signed off on livescan, GC and all other pre requisites.
Who TF knows tho. Maybe this new LT is rockin their new dept issued cowboy hat little too hard. Continued good vibes to those in the process

All you need to know is if you have LG GC, better start preparing a Yellow GC now.

It is 100% luck we had a few LG GCs issued. This LT is not letting LG fly anymore.

Which is why we've seen denials in the last few weeks. This is why Cubans GC during his interview transferred from LG to Yellow and focuses on his $300 laptop instead of his $1500 firearm.

Application and interview notes goes to LT for review. If it looks good, gets forwarded to undersheriff to sign.
