Dad got the call apparently to confirm good cause.. even though it seemed cut and dry in the interview?

Deputy insisted on only taking the business and tax documents, but it looks like the next set of deputies wanted the paperwork for everything.

So here I am, resending everything again for my dad.

FYI: if your deputy insisted on only a few documents, I recommend insisting you give them everything anyways.

can't believe we have to reconfirm GC

That's interesting... Paperwork for what exactly? For me, it was just the articles of incorporation & business licenses. He did ask for a business card and I provided that as well at the interview. Maybe at the interview your dad said something that didn't match the GC or added something on top because they do ask you at the end of the interview if you would like to add or change something.

Wow Very long interview this am.....My impressions.

        1. Very serious Deputy. Did not smile once.
        2. Was there about an hour.
        3. Does not have record of any of my guns, and I brought copies of all of my DROS's for him to keep.
        4. Questioned why did I do Livescan and training first? I explained "I'm just pro-active and I realize it could be a gamble and I completely understand I could have wasted my money.
        5. Asked me all of the standard questions. No to everything except two questions:
        A. Have I ever been in a fight? Yes at 11 years old over 30 years ago, I was jumped after school by two guys he wanted details then said have you ever been in anymore fights? No, so he put no on his checklist.
        B. Have I been listed on any police report for any reason? I said yes, because I was in an injury accident with 4 other cars back in 2015.
Deputy asked about DV, Stalking, Psych, Illegal Drugs, MJ Card? Use any controlled substances, street racing, stalking, dishonorably discharged? (Never in the military.)

I put on my GC work, I showed cash deposits, but I also put on my application my rental properties, but I forgot to bring proof of ownership location pictures deed property tax statements leases etc. He said because I put that on my application I needed to show proof. He signed my application in front of me, and siad he has to write a report to his superiors and then if they approve they would send me an email to get training "But I jumped the gun and already did that" Then he said after that then I would get an email to go do Livescan "But I jumped the gun on that" But then he said " Youve definitely sped up the process for yourself jumping the gun" but you will hear back from us.

"Please send proof of rental property documents to my MY personal email address, Emphasis the DEPUTY : DO NOT EMAIL THE GENERAL CCW EMAIL ADDRESS YOU WILL SLOW DOWN THE PROCESS FOR EVERYONE AND WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF APPLICATIONS TO PROCESS AND THERE IS ONLY & OF US REVIEWING THE APPLICATIONS!"

I immediately drove home and personally emailed him pics of my rental property, pics of the gang graffiti on the property my tenant had texted me, pic of the address and overview of property, property tax statements, deed of trust, and LA City HCIDLA (Google It Im not explaing) Rental Registration Certificate.)

I thanked him for his time and he walked me out.

        My concerns:

        1. Yes he did receive my 4/14 George Floyd Riots happening dropped off application.
        2. Very very serious. My impression, he didnt like me jumping the gun on training and Livescan.
        3. Never smiled but did shake my hand, did ask for additional supporting proof, went over my small business ownership documents, questioned me for 20 minutes on why I used cash in my business did I report it to the IRS? Where do I get the cash, where do I deposit it, from whom and why. He asked how much cash per week I said in average 15,000 with atm and reciepts and bank statements to back it up.

Have I ever called the police for any reason? Yes I had some kids do ding dong ditch in my neighborhood back in 2018 we live in a sheriff patrolled neighborhood, we called 911 they showed up, no report taken.

Have I ever had an altercation with aneighbor? No

        Have I ever street raced?

Have ever been a prty to a domestic violence situation? No

Have I ever tried to comitt suiciude? No

Have I ever ccw illegally? No

Do I own any unregistered weapons? No

What freaked me out and I wasnt going to challenge him is he said that my livescan was not complete even though it shows complete on the CADOJ website that is was completed 5/29 but with the deputy being super serious I didnt want to push the issue and I got the feeling or gut he's super busy and just wants to be done.

The applicant before me was an old man, and the paplicant after was an old man.

I figure I have a 50/50 yes no because I jumped the gun on everything and he didnt like that. But fingers crossed, I put my best foot forward wore a suit and had copiesof everything, and will hope for the best. YMMV
        ??.

Holy **** Lol, that's the first time I've seen an interview lasting more than 10 minutes. How do they not have records of your firearms? Did you buy your firearms before there was a registration of handguns in CA? I believe that was before the year of 2000. I just gave my serial number for my handgun and that was it. All they have to do is lookup the serial number to see who it's registered to and or stolen.

Yeah dude, livescan and training is easily above the $300.00 range due to the price of ammo nowadays. I really do hope that you do not get in trouble with the IRS for the cash .... That's super serious. I'm surprised that they even asked you for tax statements? My investigator just wanted proof that I am the owner of the business, nothing crazy like that. Good luck friend.

Once they receive your livescan results they would have tried and matched it up with your application but couldn’t find it. They most likely keep the applications in separate piles. Say one pile for apps already interviewed and awaiting live scan, one for apps with livescan completed and awaiting training and so on.

Hopefully they have a misc pile and he’ll have to find it there. That’s probably why he said they don’t have your livescan results. When you jump the gun your are messing with their system.

I also just got an e-mail requesting for more documentation. Luckily it was stuff that I already had ready to go but I am getting the feeling this may not be as easy as a lot of us believe. Also clearly means my app had not been looked at in over a month.

Again, I believe jumping the gun with livescan is a bad idea and doesn't save you any time.

FYI: if your deputy insisted on only a few documents, I recommend insisting you give them everything anyways.

can't believe we have to reconfirm GC

You have to remember you are just given a preliminary approval after your interview. The supervisor still has to review the deputies notes and give final approval. Supervisors always tend to need more documentation. Same thing happened to me. About a week after my interview my interviewing deputy said his supervisor needed this and that from me. Not a big deal, emailed it to him and he confirmed receipt.

My Deputy's last starts with an S. He didnt want tax statements, he wanted my property tax showing I paid the property tax on the rental property since I listed it as part of my GC along with dealing n large sums of cash for my business.

I bought two of my 9MM in 2020, 1 from Ammo Bros in cerritos, one from a provate FFL in the valley, and the 3rd 9mm from a Gun Store in 2021 in Burbank a legit Gun Store. He didnt have record of any my guns! None of them came up registered to anyone? WTF Am I a ghost? Just call me Casper?

OVER 1 hour for interview, deadly serious. I have no felonies, never been arrested, never been detained, never been a suspect, only 1 CHP report about a car accident in 2015. No traffic tickets since 2017. Last ticket was for unsafe lane change.

I have no idea why they detail. I will say this.... this deputy was Seargent, he had stripes on his arms, maybe thats why he was so thorogh? Short staffed? He's the supervisor?

My gut: Dont do training and livescan until asked. I might have wasted 3-400 bucks but not to be little it, but that amount of money doesnt hurt me, yes I'm sad if I dodnt get one as I do feel I need a ccw in my line of business but because I got someone in mgmt maybe he wasnt happy doing what his employees should be doing? IDK, I just can tell when someone doesnt smile and I smiled at him was very direct kept eye contact and was very professional had everything organized and copied, and only forgot ownership of rental property which I promptly emailed him within 1 hour of the interview, to support everything I provided.

Weird thing was my livescan they dont have and no record of any of my guns I gave him copiesof pending DROS and Approved DROS for each gun with serial numbers.

                          Who knows????
                          ??.

One more thing he asked me about my cross streets where I lived in a cul de sac and main streets and he said "you know we patrol that area" I said yep I understand. Im very familiar with that area he said. (Its affluent)

What's also weird is the morning I got the call, literally 15 minutes before I got the blocked number call, a Deputy Sheriff drove by my house for the first time I noticed in a bout a year or two and then 15 minutes later I got the blocked call earlier this week. Amazing coincidence?

Maybe he was being thorough becuase he's a manager?

He did show me the person before me application showing pictures of his rental property and map showing its in a high crime area and asked for pictures and map and graffiti and ownership documents. That's how he ended the interview. I take that as a good sign because why ask for that if I was going to be denied?
                              ??.
