    1. Very serious Deputy. Did not smile once.
    2. Was there about an hour.
    3. Does not have record of any of my guns, and I brought copies of all of my DROS's for him to keep.
    4. Questioned why did I do Livescan and training first? I explained "I'm just pro-active and I realize it could be a gamble and I completely understand I could have wasted my money.
    5. Asked me all of the standard questions. No to everything except two questions:
    A. Have I ever been in a fight? Yes at 11 years old over 30 years ago, I was jumped after school by two guys he wanted details then said have you ever been in anymore fights? No, so he put no on his checklist.
    B. Have I been listed on any police report for any reason? I said yes, because I was in an injury accident with 4 other cars back in 2015.
Deputy asked about DV, Stalking, Psych, Illegal Drugs, MJ Card? Use any controlled substances, street racing, stalking, dishonorably discharged? (Never in the military.)

I put on my GC work, I showed cash deposits, but I also put on my application my rental properties, but I forgot to bring proof of ownership location pictures deed property tax statements leases etc. He said because I put that on my application I needed to show proof. He signed my application in front of me, and siad he has to write a report to his superiors and then if they approve they would send me an email to get training "But I jumped the gun and already did that" Then he said after that then I would get an email to go do Livescan "But I jumped the gun on that" But then he said " Youve definitely sped up the process for yourself jumping the gun" but you will hear back from us.

"Please send proof of rental property documents to my MY personal email address, Emphasis the DEPUTY : DO NOT EMAIL THE GENERAL CCW EMAIL ADDRESS YOU WILL SLOW DOWN THE PROCESS FOR EVERYONE AND WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF APPLICATIONS TO PROCESS AND THERE IS ONLY & OF US REVIEWING THE APPLICATIONS!"

I immediately drove home and personally emailed him pics of my rental property, pics of the gang graffiti on the property my tenant had texted me, pic of the address and overview of property, property tax statements, deed of trust, and LA City HCIDLA (Google It Im not explaing) Rental Registration Certificate.)

I thanked him for his time and he walked me out.

    My concerns:

    1. Yes he did receive my 4/14 George Floyd Riots happening dropped off application.
    2. Very very serious. My impression, he didnt like me jumping the gun on training and Livescan.
    3. Never smiled but did shake my hand, did ask for additional supporting proof, went over my small business ownership documents, questioned me for 20 minutes on why I used cash in my business did I report it to the IRS? Where do I get the cash, where do I deposit it, from whom and why. He asked how much cash per week I said in average 15,000 with atm and reciepts and bank statements to back it up.

Have I ever called the police for any reason? Yes I had some kids do ding dong ditch in my neighborhood back in 2018 we live in a sheriff patrolled neighborhood, we called 911 they showed up, no report taken.

Have I ever had an altercation with aneighbor? No

    Have I ever street raced?

Have ever been a prty to a domestic violence situation? No

Have I ever tried to comitt suiciude? No

Have I ever ccw illegally? No

Do I own any unregistered weapons? No

What freaked me out and I wasnt going to challenge him is he said that my livescan was not complete even though it shows complete on the CADOJ website that is was completed 5/29 but with the deputy being super serious I didnt want to push the issue and I got the feeling or gut he's super busy and just wants to be done.

The applicant before me was an old man, and the paplicant after was an old man.

I figure I have a 50/50 yes no because I jumped the gun on everything and he didnt like that. But fingers crossed, I put my best foot forward wore a suit and had copiesof everything, and will hope for the best. YMMV

      Amen and amen.

Villanueva is already at war with the Board of Supervisors, who wil not be receptive to lobbying to facilitate CCW issuance in LA County. What he is already doing is a finger in their eyes.

That reminds me of all the times the NRA asks me to contact my Senators to lobby them on a gun law. Don’t waste your time or breath on Feinstein, Boxer, Harris, etc. That will just get you on a list.
      4/19/21 applied, 8/31 Whittier interview.
11/17 PTT email, docs sent 11/18
12/13 call for pick up, picked up 12/15/21.

Just curious, what is your average speculation on their current ccw issuance? Do you think that they may be slowing down or will this be a consistent issuance as long as AV is in office?

        a more specific scenario being:
3 Individuals applying for a CCW a month apart.
Both have identical GC statements due to them co-owning the same business.
First person already received the CCW
Second person is still waiting for an email for training
Third person still waiting for interview call.

Will all 3 receive CCWs due to precedent of the first? Or will each be looked at differently as time goes on?

Still worried about the stance LASD has on CCWs as he "met" his goal.

          Bought my guns decades ago...

          Can anyone tell me please....

The guns I intend to request were purchased maybe 40 years ago. They were all bought at a California dealer, with whatever paperwork was done at that time. I recall it being just filled out by hand, computers barely existed then...

Would the state still know about them? Or should I fill out a firearm ownership report before applying for a CCW?

Is there a way to get a list of the guns the DOJ knows I own?

          Thanks!

Really depends. And as always, it would be a case-by-case basis.
It's not something I like to openly talk about. I rarely bring it up in private.

No contest pleas to misdemeanor AW and disturbing the peace charges in the wake of a defensive shooting. Did some community service, judge dismissed the remainder, and I paid all fees and fines. Dismissed pursuant to 1203.4 (the judge actually told me to make the motion, and that he'd approve it). Arrest was for multiple felony and multiple misdemeanor charges. I only took the pleas for financial reasons (couldn't afford a trial, had no confidence in public defenders as an alternative to my private attorneys, and had already gone beyond broke paying for attorneys and bail up to that point; 21-year-olds generally don't have a lot of money and resources).

No trouble ever since, not even a speeding ticket (in fact, I've never gotten a ticket in my entire life; the case above is the only time I've ever been in any trouble; nothing before or since). It's been almost nine years, now, without getting in trouble.

That's a lot of words to say nothing useful.

Convictions were misdemeanors, not felonies. Plead down from felony charges.

And these types of responses are exactly why I tend not to give out any details on public forums.

Are we supposed to bring our own Ammo to the in person instruction? Do we need a holster? Any other equipment needed?

                            @Michael,

The easiest thing honestly, instead of figuring out if a half century old gun is registered to the state, go buy a Glock 19 and use that as your CCW.

It's just a lot of work to figure out if and how the relics are registered. And also finding a kydex holster for them...

As you read in the posts the difference between one week of submittals could mean a month wait time

People who submitted the 2nd week of April are done with training and live scans. Waiting for pick up.

Half the people on the 3rd week of April are just going into their interviews now.

The more time you waste figuring out if and how those are registered, will add on at least a month and maybe 4 months to your interview. So my suggestion is forget about your boomer guns. Go buy a Glock 19. A good belt. A good kydex holster and submit your application as soon as you can.

@sourNoob, depends on the class. All class's are different.

TRB in socal - we could buy ammo at the range. Our class needed a holster because we practiced our draw, you're also on a firing line with 20 other people.

Call your training provider and see what they need. Chances are, it's listed on their website and you just need to read.

When did you submit? Your question seems kind of dumb so maybe you didn't even do your interview yet.

Are you by any chance taking the course at FT3 today? Whichever class you sign up for should have a section of information on what to bring and what they might provide, such as ammo for a price.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that jumping the gun on livescan and training annoys the assigned deputy because they're hoping that those two things give them some breathing room for processing applications. They're probably swamped.
