Even though I didn't vote for "V" last time. He has become MORE CCW friendly.

So UNLESS Vera comes out as agreeing with the CCW view of the candidate that I did vote for, Bob Lindley. Who was FULL ON SHALL ISSUE.

    I will vote for "V".

AV will not go to shall issue ever. Only GC will be cause of issuance. He addressed this in his Live Q&A a few days ago

IMO best to stick with an incumbent who’s issuing. Plus AV may issue even more liberally come July 01.
I only mentioned AV not issuing more liberally in the first half of of his term to draw attention to the fact that there won’t be a big enough base of CCW permit holders to ensure his re-election.

Best to vote for AV who is issuing more liberally now than someone who promises to issue even more but has no track record of doing that.

Do we still need an lapd ccw denial letter? I'm not seeing that in the reqs at LASD site.

No, LASD policy just changed a few weeks ago. Just apply directly to LASD.

                    Process Question

Hey Everyone. First timer here. I have seen tons of good info here. One thing I have not seen or probably missed is details on the class. Do instructors require you to have a holster for each weapon you are qualifying? and if so is there a specific holster, IWB OWB?

I mailed in my application on 4/14. They received it on 4/15. Money order chased 4/29. I'm waiting for either a call or denial letter. will update as I go along. Thanks.
                    4/14 application mailed.
                    9/9 call for interview
                    9/22 interview & livescan initiated
                    9/24 livescan complete
                    10/15 completed training preemptively
11/22 proceed to training email received
                    11/23 submitted training
                    12/27 call for pick up
                    12/29 pick up

You only need to qualify to LASD standards listed here:

I do recommend taking training where you practice drawing from your IWB/OWB holster but it is not a requirement for qualification.

Thanks. Just asking because I saw a few of the LASD approved CCW courses on their website it says to bring a holster.

My friends classes and my class did not make us use our holsters. Just like another indoor range day. I believe most public ranges do not let people holster their guns anyways.

                                Yes, taking a while.

Usually, if your prints are good enough they get completed the same day. If the prints are bad, they get kicked out of the automated system and they have to be done manually.

Or that is the process for applicants for LE.
